Essential Question: Does alcohol on the brain affects adults or the youth more?
Working Thesis: Does drinking alcohol affects the youth brain more than the adults
brain?
Refined Thesis: Alcohol has more effects on the brain and its activity more than it
does with adults.

This article talks about the trends among alcohol in the United States. This
data regarding alcohol related traffic fatalities among the youth, that indicates
decreases of alcohol use. Alcohol rates are still high of binge drinking and
drunkenness of alcohol use among young adults with risky sexual activity, poor
school performance, and how it affects the body. This article also discuss elements
of alcohol use against adults that pose risk alcohol problems. The differences ranges
from patterns of different levels of the amount of alcohol. There are also
developmental differences between adolescents and adults. Non-normative
developmental tasks and distinctions in their brain development that also may
affect their alcohol patterns. This article is relevant to my topic because it talks
about the ways alcohol affects adults and youth.

While reading this article on human studies on the brain, the author explains
the effects, and the studies he/she has about the brain. The article alcohol and the
adolescents brain; human studies point out the facts on the brain and how alcohol
can mess with its function also. Young people seem to begin drinking alcohol during
adolescence. A fact has been stated that heavy drinking affects the
neuropsychological performance of young people and me impair the growth and
integrity of certain brain structures. Alcohol consumption during adolescence may
alter measures of brain functioning as the blood flow in certain brain regions and
activities. This article is relevant to my research because it talks about how alcohol
affects the brain in multiple ways and the effects.
