Semester Project

You are required to form a group of 4-5 students and decide on a


Bangladeshi business that you wish to work with. For example you are
to imagine as if you are the owner/ advisor of a pharmaceutical
company. You have the liberty to choose any company you wish to
work with as long as it has a potential for global expansion.
Activity One
Give a brief description about the company, its products and
operations. Talk to about local operations of the company and the need
for it to go global.
Activity Two
From your knowledge of Chapter 12 on Country Evaluation and
Selection, identify at least two countries where you might want to
expand your business to. Then apply all the evaluation of country
selection and finally decide on which country to expand your business
into and why.
Provide, diagrams, maps, pictures wherever relevant.
Activity Three
Compile your work in a report. The report should follow the basics of a
report with cover page, table of contents, executive summary, main
report and references. Inclusion of references is a must and
failure to do so with result in heavy penalization.
There will be a presentation on a scheduled date after the
submission of the report which will be discussed by the
teacher.
You will be assessed based on the following criteria as to whether you

1. Demonstrate a basic understanding of global cultural knowledge


through understanding the core components of international
business and the local and national differences.
2. Understand the basic different factors that determine
international trade patterns and capital flows and their impact on
global business operations.
3. Identify the basic international competitiveness of nations and
their attractiveness for international business.
4. Demonstrate basic knowledge on cross-border communications
and managerial issues from an International business context.
