Essential Question: what are the effects of a military career on a family
Working thesis: a military career can have many different effects on a family
Refined Thesis: Military careers can stress out the kids of the family which can affect school
work and are expected to be more self-sufficient and responsible then their piers. A military

This article stated above is explaining how children in a military family are Experiencing
stress that can affect their performance in school. It talks about how often a military family
moves around and how often the kids of the families have to transfer schools. When they move
they will have to adjust to a whole new surrounding and making new friends in a completely new
surroundings. They also need to deal with the stress of their parent or parents not being around
for long periods of time

The article talks about the pros and cons about being a child in a military lifestyle. Some
of the pros are that the kids learn to take care of them self at a young age. They have a more
diverse group of friends and is willing to talk to a wider range of people then someone from a
civilian family. The cons are moving often every few years and being away from family for long
periods of time.

There are different groups out there that help try to relieve the stress of all the moving
and being away from the family. The FRG is one of the mini organizations that help with
relieving stress in a family with deployments and moving to new locations every few years.
They help keep solder focused when they are away from their families knowing that there family
