PHILOSOPHY, VISION-MISSION, and CORE VALUES STATEMENTS OF

SAINT ANTHONY MONTESSORI EDUCATIONAL NETWORK, INC.

ABSTRACT
Every school should have a clearly defined, articulated, written, and
actively implemented statements of philosophy, vision-mission statements,
and core values. Such statements describe the schools fundamental
educational purposes and the essence of what it is seeking to achieve as a
community of learners. These serve as the basis for daily operational and
instructional decision-making as well as strategic or long-range planning. The
statements are to be used to determine the extent to which policies,
practices, resources, and curricular and other program components work
together conceptually, structurally, and operationally to achieve stated
expectations for teaching and learning. Through these statements, the
schools teaching and non-teaching personnel share an understanding of and
commitment to instructional goals, priorities, assessment procedures and
accountability as well as accept responsibility for students learning of the
schools essential curricular goals.

This philosophy, vision-mission statement, and core values should be

aligned with the national development goals, the values and beliefs of the
community the school serves; and is reviewed periodically by the schools
stakeholders representatives.

PHILOSOPHY, VISION-MISSION STATEMENT, and CORE VALUES

THE PHILOSOPHY

From the statement of Mr. Jovenal P. Oreiro (SAM Bacnotan Yearbook

2002-2003), he said, Against a background of serious limitation in our
financial and material resources, our collective efforts and undaunted spirits
triumphed in the attainment of our defined goals. We hope to remain
steadfast and consistent to excel in higher studies. We commit and
dedicate to attain balance quality education for children

From this statement, he believed that Saint Anthony Montessori

Educational Network, Inc. primarily exists to contribute towards the
development of the youth in terms of its effective and reasonably priced
curricular programs, accessible facilities, and unique structural- ownership so
that they will possess the patriotic spirit of contributing to the task of nation
building.

Thus, the new Saint Anthony Montessori Educational Network, Inc.

Philosophy is stated as:

Saint Anthony Montessori Educational Network, Inc. exists to

contribute towards the holistic development of the 21st Century
youth in terms of its effective and reasonably priced curricular
programs, accessible facilities, and unique structural-ownership to
build a patriotic spirit in nation building

THE VISION-MISSION STATEMENT

From the DepEd Order No. 36 s. 2013 also known as the Our
Department of Education Vision, Mission, and Core Values, the restructured aims of the K-to-12 program, and the schools operational vision
and mission statement, the school came up with its VISION-MISSION
STATEMENT

We, the Saint Anthony Montessori Educational Network, Inc., a

non-sectarian private educational institution, commit to the
integral, holistic, and transformative education of the 21st Century
youth to become God-loving, functionally literate, nationalistic, and
value-laden individuals by providing quality basic education, and
forging ties with community institutions for the greater benefit of
the Church, of the community, and of the nation.

THE VISION STATEMENT

We, the Saint Anthony Montessori Educational Network, Inc., a nonsectarian private educational institution, commit to the integral, holistic,
and transformative education of the 21st Century youth

The vision statement serves as a pledge to the institutions of Saint Anthony

Montessori. It also describes the kind and type of school it is.

Also, Saint Anthony Montessoris vision promises an education for the current
generation (21st Century youth) involving instruction that covers the essential
lessons needed in for life-long learning (integral), a well-rounded instruction
(holistic), and an education that molds all aspects of life.

THE MISSION STATEMENT

to become God-loving, functionally literate, nationalistic, and

value-laden individuals by providing quality basic education, and

forging ties with community institutions for the greater benefit of

the Church, of the community, and of the nation

How will the school fulfill its mission?

It is the duty of Saint Anthony Montessori Educational Network, Inc. to
provide quality basic education and by bridging the gap between the school and its
partners in the community.

What are the characteristics of SAMENIs graduates?

The graduates of Saint Anthony Montessori transforms a 21 st Century youth
to become God-loving, functionally literate (a well-rounded individual), a patriotic
citizen of the nation (nationalistic), and an individual who is transformed with values
(value-laden).
Also, the graduates of Saint Anthony Montessori are expected to serve the
religious sect they belong and the community they are involved in. Moreover, each
graduate of the school will take part in nation building and in the promotion of
active citizenry.

CORE VALUES

As anchored with the schools PVM Statement, we come up with FOUR CORE
VALUES:

GOD-LOVING
FUNCTIONALLY LITERATE
NATIONALISTIC
VALUE-LADEN

HOW WILL THIS P-VM-CV BE ATTAINED?

Saint Anthony Montessori Educational Network, Inc. takes part in the active
review of the said P-VM-CV Statement. Such that, the P-VM-CV will be integrated in
all the instructional programs, school institutionalization and planning, and student
services.

GOD-LOVING
Religion instruction, regardless of religious affiliation, should be inculcated to
the instructional programs of the school. This will enlighten the student about the
strengths, and weakness of their religious sect and how will they involve themselves
with other religious sect.

FUNCTIONALLY LITERATE
The instructional programs, school institutionalization and planning, and
student services should take part in the integral, holistic, and transformative
education of the youth. Moreover, this stresses that individuals must be equipped to
seize learning opportunity throughout life, both to broaden his/her knowledge, skills,
and attitudes, and adapt to a changing, complex and interdependent world (Delors
1996).

NATIONALISTIC

The instructional programs, school institutionalization and planning, and

student services should take part in the development of the learners who are true
citizens and patriots, who have a strong desire to serve their country and work for
its betterment. This means that activities such as tree-planting, coastal clean-up
drive, community outreach program, and other community related programs should
be strengthened and emphasized.

VALUE-LADEN
The instructional programs, school institutionalization and planning, and
student services should inculcate values to better develop ones personality and to
act with ever greater autonomy, judgment and personal responsibility.
As advocated by the four pillars of education by Jacques Delors, the school
believes and pledges that students should acquire instruments of understanding (to
know), act creatively in ones environment (to do), participate and cooperate with
other people in all human activities (to live together), and develop ones personality
and to act with ever greater autonomy, judgment, and personal responsibility (to
be).
