ABSTRACT
Every school should have a clearly defined, articulated, written, and
actively implemented statements of philosophy, vision-mission statements,
and core values. Such statements describe the schools fundamental
educational purposes and the essence of what it is seeking to achieve as a
community of learners. These serve as the basis for daily operational and
instructional decision-making as well as strategic or long-range planning. The
statements are to be used to determine the extent to which policies,
practices, resources, and curricular and other program components work
together conceptually, structurally, and operationally to achieve stated
expectations for teaching and learning. Through these statements, the
schools teaching and non-teaching personnel share an understanding of and
commitment to instructional goals, priorities, assessment procedures and
accountability as well as accept responsibility for students learning of the
schools essential curricular goals.
THE PHILOSOPHY
From the DepEd Order No. 36 s. 2013 also known as the Our
Department of Education Vision, Mission, and Core Values, the restructured aims of the K-to-12 program, and the schools operational vision
and mission statement, the school came up with its VISION-MISSION
STATEMENT
We, the Saint Anthony Montessori Educational Network, Inc., a nonsectarian private educational institution, commit to the integral, holistic,
and transformative education of the 21st Century youth
Also, Saint Anthony Montessoris vision promises an education for the current
generation (21st Century youth) involving instruction that covers the essential
lessons needed in for life-long learning (integral), a well-rounded instruction
(holistic), and an education that molds all aspects of life.
CORE VALUES
As anchored with the schools PVM Statement, we come up with FOUR CORE
VALUES:
GOD-LOVING
FUNCTIONALLY LITERATE
NATIONALISTIC
VALUE-LADEN
Saint Anthony Montessori Educational Network, Inc. takes part in the active
review of the said P-VM-CV Statement. Such that, the P-VM-CV will be integrated in
all the instructional programs, school institutionalization and planning, and student
services.
GOD-LOVING
Religion instruction, regardless of religious affiliation, should be inculcated to
the instructional programs of the school. This will enlighten the student about the
strengths, and weakness of their religious sect and how will they involve themselves
with other religious sect.
FUNCTIONALLY LITERATE
The instructional programs, school institutionalization and planning, and
student services should take part in the integral, holistic, and transformative
education of the youth. Moreover, this stresses that individuals must be equipped to
seize learning opportunity throughout life, both to broaden his/her knowledge, skills,
and attitudes, and adapt to a changing, complex and interdependent world (Delors
1996).
NATIONALISTIC
VALUE-LADEN
The instructional programs, school institutionalization and planning, and
student services should inculcate values to better develop ones personality and to
act with ever greater autonomy, judgment and personal responsibility.
As advocated by the four pillars of education by Jacques Delors, the school
believes and pledges that students should acquire instruments of understanding (to
know), act creatively in ones environment (to do), participate and cooperate with
other people in all human activities (to live together), and develop ones personality
and to act with ever greater autonomy, judgment, and personal responsibility (to
be).
