CONCLUSIONS

From the results of Plate Load test and the attached

results, it can be seen that a small amount of settlement
has been occurred due to the limited depth of influence of
p l a t e u s e d . M o r e o v e r, e s t i m a t i o n / p r e d i c t i o n o f s e t t l e m e n t
for design load of stone column from results depicts a
settlement, which is well within the allowable settlement
o f 2 5 m m . H o w e v e r, s a m e c a n b e v e r i f i e d b y d o i n g t h e
zone

load

test

for

group

behavior

of

installed

stone

column.

From the load - settlement graph, constraint modulus of

installed

stone column is also

interpreted using

back

calculation and found to be more than the assumed value

in design.
To c o n c l u d e , t h e c o m p r e s s i b i l i t y o f s t o n e c o l u m n i s w e l l
within the stipulated allowable deformation and found to
be perform satisfactorily for serviceability criteria.
