able to understand more about this silent illness, and are not afraid to step
forward to seek treatment in dealing with Eating Disorder.
PROJECT PREPARATION
Before the execution of our campaign, we had organized meetings
to brainstorm on ideas on how to attract audiences to our booth. Through
researches and discussion, we had decided to organize a mini game,
which is The Food Pyramid, and to conduct a survey on Eating Disorder.
Not only that, we had also came out with an idea to distribute salads to
participants who took part during our campaign and to provide them with
an easy meal plan to give them an idea on what to eat during breakfast,
lunch and dinner.
Both of our group members doing research on and coming out with a meal plan.
4
The final outcome of the outcome is as above. (The hardcopy of the meal plan is
attached at the appendices section)
The content of info-graphic poster includes the types of eating disorder, the
symptoms, the causes and the methods of treatment. As for the survey form,
questions are prepared and done online.

prepared. Salads were handled by only one of our group member, Adele, who had
already gotten her typhoid vaccination.
Our group members drawing the food pyramid poster and cutting out the pictures

CONCLUSION
Through this project, we are able to determine the level of
awareness between different genders among students and lecturers. From
the data collected through the survey forms, it can be concluded that
females are more acquainted with this psychological disorders as more
females are able to answer the questions prepared correctly.
There was a total of 14 questions in the survey prepared ahead
which comprise of 7 questions regarding the respondent's understanding
towards eating disorders and 7 personal questions mostly related to the
respondents eating habit. A few of our group members then wrapped up
the survey by converting the data collected into pie charts. For the first 7
questions that test on the respondents understanding, 5 out of 7
questions shown that the percentage of females getting a correct answer
is higher than males. For example, question 2 which ask for the cause of
eating disorder. 72% of females knew that eating disorder is caused by
psychological problems while 62% of males got it right. However, there are
2 questions that had shown a higher percentage of accuracy in males than
females. For instance, question 1 which states the definition of eating
disorder. 74% of males got it right whereas a lower percentage of 72%
females got it right. Generally, the first 7 questions had shown higher
accuracy percentage for both genders which indirectly proven that most of
the respondents understand the disease. Nonetheless, 2 out of 7 questions
had a lower accuracy percentage in both genders. Question 3 in particular,
only 22% of males knew that eating disorder would result in red, blotchy
28
skin and on the other hand only 18% of females got it right. But overall,
the responses were mostly accurate about eating disorder and were fair
enough to make a comparison.

INDIVIDUAL REFLECTIONS

Eating disorder has been an issue over the globe for the past few
years and is gradually increasing due to the lack of awareness being
brought up to fight against this situation. Eating disorder was chosen by
my team and I because we feel that in our university life we also tend to
fall into this situation due to assignments. Eating disorder cant be treated
lightly as it will affect our health gradually in a negative way.
On the day of the campaign, my team and I seek help from uni
friends to come to our booth to do a survey on eating disorder to see
whether they really understand about this health issue that most of us are
going through in our uni life. On that day, we distributed task and execute
on it. We have the survey form team, the mini game team and also some
of us doing the explanation on eating disorder, we also gave out some free
salad prepared to encourage more students to stop being the one that has
eating disorder which leads to health issue.
Through
this
assignment,
think
that
communication
and
coordination among the group mates are important. We shared our ideas
during the discussion and we worked as a team during the group meetings
to overcome obstacles. Everyone of us was important to make this event a
success. Thank you to our lecturer Miss Ding for her support.

Leading in the 21st century is a module that doesnt seem
important, actually this one of the module will sharpen the skills of a
student so that they can be standing on the society steadily and will not
be doubt by the others.
Throughout this assignment I learned about seriousness eating
disorder, causes and effect of it. Not only that, teamwork is a key to
making in this assignment, teamwork include communication between
members and there are problems that my team encounter but we solve it
as team, we discuss solution to solve it. I learned approaching people and
communicate with them.
Last but not least, for my team we have been leading each other in
a different way in this assignment, in order to achieve the same goal. I
also visited other team booth to understand what message they are trying
to pass on. From there I accumulate plenty of different knowledge.
Conclusion, I feel that this assignment pumped me with tons of
knowledge and sharpen my skill. If there is another chance I would like to
take part in this kind of activity again.

choosing the topic, mini games, design of poster and so on, but i am glad
that we could tolerate each other and learn to work as a team to achieve
the same goal.
During the event , we split the task into few session which is giving
out survey form , mini game session and salad gives away . During the
project execution, I this it is a very good experience to observe the
surrounding as well as capture some knowledge out from the syllabus . In
addition, i would thank Ms, Ding for the opportunity to having this activity
to boost up our courage and confidences to talk in front of strangers and
most importantly for the patient of guiding us step by step on the topic we
chose.
At the end of this assignment , I summarize that i have a amazing
group mates that would help each other when we face difficulties and
learnt to tolerate when facing any difficulties . Most importantly cooperate
and communicates is important in finishing this assignment. As a
conclusion ,although the he period is short, but it is very great to work
with them in this project execution and also the assignment.

group mates are considerate and tolerant that they helped to cover my
part during the booth day.
All in all, I learnt the steps to start up a project for example, we
need to prepare a complete proposal which include objective, aim, ways to
conduct and etc. Then, we need to distribute all the workloads according
in order to ease communication and to improve efficiency. After that, we
need to put in effort to make the booth day, which is also the event day a
great success. With all these knowledge and experience, Im sure it will be
an advantage to me when I start to work in the society.
