INTRODUCTION

Aquaculture is also known as aqua faming. It can be defined as

the farming of aquatic organism such as fish, crustaceans,
molluscs and other aquatic plant. This farming involves in
cultivating freshwater and salt water population under control
conditions and can be contrasted with commercial fishing.
REPORT ON AQUA FARMING
On , we attended our agriculture practical in the farm near the
Bukit Ekspo. The place were equipped with 8-10 enormous
square container to containing fish. We have been greet by the
staff on duty on that day.
In this practical class, we have assigned to catch, transfer,
and separate the fishes according to their sex. Catching the fish
were hard task for us especially when they flap their tail and
make us loose the grip on our hands. We were asked to
observe their reproduction organ first to determine which was
male or female.
After done those task, we were asked to clean the
containers that being use rare the fish before. Those thick
green algae were really difficult our task. About 30 minutes
clean it, we manage to proceed all the task given and being
allow to go to the hostel.

UNIT COMPOST
On 19th August 2016, our lecture group were assigned to make practical
at farm compost which located behind Kolej Pendeta Za'ba under Taman
Pertanian UPM. Basically, compost is one of the method for
farmer tooptimize the used of their waste product such as unused
pruning branches and etc into compost fertiliser. So, with this method
farmer can either commercialise their compost fertiliser or reused it for
their own farm. There were 3 type of compost which is farm compost,
kitchen compost and single compost. Here we just learned how
to make farm compost.
Task
There were few process to make compost fertiliser which start by
adding compost materials in layers, alternating moist and dry. Moist
ingredients are food scraps, tea bags, seaweed, etc. Dry materials are
straw, leaves, sawdust pellets and wood ashes. For unused pruned
branches, we had used shredder chippers to blend it.
Then add manure, green manure ( clover, buckwheat, wheatgrass, grass
clippings) or any nitrogen source. Here we used bacteria
to decomposed the layer of moist and wet materials. It is also important
to give energy/food to the bacteria by adding red sugar into the pile. This
activates the compost pile and speeds the process along. After that we
must keep compost moist.
Water occasionally, or let rain do the job. Cover with anything we have wood, plastic sheeting, carpet scraps. Covering helps retain moisture
and heat, two essentials for compost. Covering also prevents the
compost from being over-watered by rain. The compost should be moist,
but not soaked and sodden.
We also have to "turn". Every few weeks give the pile a quick turn with a
pitchfork or shovel. This aerates the pile. Oxygen is required for the
process to work, and turning "adds" oxygen. We can skip this step if you
have a ready supply of coarse material, like straw.
Once your compost pile is established, add new materials by mixing
them in, rather than by adding them in layers. Mixing, or turning, the
compost pile is key to aerating the composting materials and speeding
the process to completion. It is commonly to add cocoa puff into the pile
to increase the quality and price of the compost fertiliser.
There are 3 characteristics of established compost which is odourless,
do not have the original shape and the pile is not warm. It means that
bacteria had completely decomposed the pile. The whole process

may took 3-6 month for completion based on how recent we turn the
pile. The last but not least is the packaging process. Usually,
compost with cocoa puff are sold with price of RM 1.50 per kg.
In
conclusion, we had completed our tasks within thegiven time and we tha
nked the instructors for theknowledge and information that we had receiv
ed. Thepractical was indeed fun and wonderful experiences. We
hope that we can visit there again.

ACTIVITY: MUD RUGBY

The third checkpoint and activity was playing rugby in the
paddy field. Before that, we were given given some explanation
about the rule on how to play such extreme game by Mr. Alif.
We played rugby touch and those participants just had to tab
their opponents while they were holding the ball and try to avoid
them from approaching the touchdown line at the end of the
paddy field.
We were categorised according to our sex. Boys will ply
with boys and girll will play with girls. After all of the players
were ready, the mud rugby game begun. All of the students
played well and try all their best to win the match.
About 10 minutes play, we manage to win the game with
score 4-2. Actually, we were very enjoyed the game as it was
the first time moment for all of us. The value we get here was
the important of the cooperation between teammates.

ACTIVITY: BRIEFING GAMES

About 5.30 in the evening, all of the participant s were asked to
gather at the volleyball court, next to the caf. The students were divided
into 10 groups. Each of the groups was given a facilitators to conduct
those activities.
The group members were asked to form a circle before briefing
session. Each of the students was asked to introduce their name and
added an acronym behind their name. Actually, this session help all of us
to remind each other although with the acronim.
Then, the first game started. The game named telur, ayam, naga
dan raja. We were asked to play duce. The player who win the game
will approach to another level and the loser will get back to the level
before. The players manage to end the game if they become a king. The
objective of the game actually is to strengthen the bonding among group
members.
After that, all of the students were asked to gather back at the
volleyball court to play next games. The game name kita serupa and
kambing dan kandang. The students looked very happy and excited
with these games. Actually, the games make us know each other beside
strengthen our bonding among foundation students.
Finally, volting session for president and vice-president. All of us
were asked to choose one of us to become a leader. The leader
responsible report to the facilitator if any emergency occur among
sudents. So, all of us agreed to choose Abu Hurairah as our daddy and
Aqilah as our mummy. Around 6.45 p.m, we allowed to go back to our
dorm and prepared for this night activity.
