This is a causal event, and there is no official dress code. However often guests
will come to the show dressed up as a character from the film. Furthermore,
during the performance, there are cues for gests to throw things like water, toast,
rice and more. The performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show is seen as a
two-way street. The audience needs the cast to perform to experience the show,
and the cast needs the audiences participation and energy to make the show a
success.

One JMU Rocky Horror cast member said, This is a show that truly celebrates
everyone. The theme of acceptance and celebration of everybody is one of the
main points that JMU Rocky Horror identifies with. They strive to make their
performance enjoyable for everyone in the audience, and in the cast.

While Rocky Horror might be a new experience for people in the Harrisonburg
area across the country Rocky Horror has a cult following. The Rocky Horror
Picture Show is an immersive experience featuring a movie that dates back to
1975. Originally this was just a movie, but now The Rocky Horror Picture Show
has taken on a life of its own. In modern society Rocky Horror is not just a movie,
there is a cast that acts live along with the film onscreen.
