Abstract
The most used energy for human activity are electric energy and
petroleum oil. Petroleum oil is very common energy for everyday life.
Diesel fuel, Gasoline, and petroleum gas are the example of petroleum oil.
But all of that are unrenewable energy. In about 100 years, petroleum oil
will be gone and we need another new energy for usage. One of the new
energy is Biogas. Biogas is used for everyday purposes such as cooking
and lighting Its just going to be a cesspool. And Biogas can change that
cesspool or waste to energy. In every house or bio-industry there will
always bio-waste for Biogas to use. Biogas produced by the breakdown of
organic matter in the air with the absence of oxygen (anaerobic
combustion) with the help of anaerobic bacteria or we can call that
fermentation of biodegradable material, so we can minimalize the usage
of oxygen for combustion and more oxygen for us to respirate. Not only
that it can recycle the cesspool or waste to energy biogas but also can
minimalize the pollution in the air. Biogas comprises primarily of methane
(CH4). This energy release is used for generating fuel. Until now, our
community still doesnt realize the usage of biogas technology which can
generate enough power for daily life around us.

Introduction
Today the use of energy resources has important role for establishment
national. The energy was needed for industial, transportation and
electricity. It is the time to make renewable energy. The use of non-fosil
sources like urban waste , agricultural waste and animal waste can be
used to producing electricity. Although Indonesia is one of the country who
has rich of petroleum but this energy can not be used for forever.
Therefore renewable energy very important to prepare energy resources
for our future. One of this option is Biogas. Biogas is renewable enrgy
which was produced by anaerobic fermentation from animal waste .
Biogas has no effect for the air because biogas not produces the ash , so
this kind of enrgy is eco-friendly ,moreover biogas has more advantage
the example is reduce the effect of green house , prevent pacification
disease and produces heat and energy.

Biogas is very compatible in the village especially for developing

countries. Biogas is very ideal for power plant because this energy can be
made with big scale to generate electricity source for resident like lighting
sources. Biogas Technology isnt developed widely because this
application for renewable energy still need more technician, knowledge of
biogas is not enough , and the contruction very costly. It is the challenge
to extend the skill and knowledge because we can not imagine that
animal waste can creates a big source energy moreover feel of disgust
with the ingredient very difficult to be vanished. This new discovery can
make the home does not depends on PLN ( Perusahaan Listrik Negara )
and we need more socialization about biogas product.
The goal of this research is to know the potential usage of biogas to
produce the electricity in every peoples home so we hope this paper can
be used for early stage to know how much advantage of biogas to
produces electricity.

Methodology
The method to write this journal is by finding a lot of article and paper.
Finding the key word and the important part of the article to summarize
informations for creating a perfect journal. Theres a lot of paper that
shows how biogas can produce electricity. But we take the most perfect
journal that focuses on electricity. So after we read a lot of paper for our
sources so we can arrange the journal.

Biogas for natural gas

If biogas is cleaned from impurities as well, it will have the same
characteristics as natural gas. If this can be achieved, a biogas producers
can sell directly to the gas distribution network. The gas must be very
clean to reach pipeline quality. Pipeline quality is a term used to designate
compatible with the fuel gas from natural gas pipelines. Such as for
methane gas can be substituted. In connection with the synthetic gas
pipeline, gas that meets the specifications for the exchange of methane.
The contents of Water(H2O), hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and other particulates
must be removed if present at high levels in the gas. For carbon dioxide
gas (CO2), do not have to participate removed, but it also had to be
separated to achieve pipeline quality gas. If the gas is to be used without
extensive cleaning, the gas is usually mixed with natural gas to improve

combustion. Biogas cleaned up to pipeline quality is called renewable

natural gas.

Results
Biogas is can produced by the process of anaerobic activity, or can be
called a process of fermentation from organic materials such as human
waste, animal waste, domestic waste, and other with the help of bacteria
that can produce a methane gas which is highly flammable and becomes
very useful. But actually biogas can be created naturally in some of places
under a pile of garbage like landfills. The source for biogas system is very
easy to find because the farmers absolutely has animals and they are
produce wastes. To resolve this problem, biogas is the alternative step to
reduce the waste and can make the environment can be healthy and
clean.
PLTB system ( Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Biogas ) or biogas power
plant is reactor which connected with the corral and the power plant.
Biogas reactor receive the animal trash so the animal feces so it can be
facilitated the owner to clean the cage. This system is designed to be
simple, so this system can produce electrical energy that can be turned
on a small village , because in the process of making biogas only need
Several large pieces of 200 liter drums as a place to accommodate
methane gas (biogas) and the several large and small pipes to distribute
the methane gas to the stove is used for cooking. so it seems very simple
in the manufacturing process to the village level. Then, a gas produced
from the combustion of biogas (methane) relatively cleaner than a gas
produced from coal combustion process. in addition, it also produces
greater energy and carbon dioxide emissions are less.
