Methodology of teaching English as a foreign language

Interview Transcription
During the interview that has been subdivided into three sub-categories. First, I
made five questions which were focused on his personal information (name, age,
educational studies). Secondly, I applied five questions that center into the main
interest or past activities that the learner did (favourite singer, where he would like
to go during his next holidays). The main objective of these questions was to make
him speak in for at least 5 minutes so it could be more useful for analyzed his
performance when speaking; hence, this part was developed in English from both
sides the interviewee and the interviewer. Thirdly, I applied the background
questions to know more about the learner's current level. Finally, due to the
answers given by the student, I could find several issues related to grammar use
and lack of vocabulary.

Theoretical Framework
Every education in the world needs strategies to plan learning within the students
in the best way possible. In Chile, the teaching techniques have been improving
more and more to be able to achieve an adequate acquisition of a second
language in learners. According to Gu (2012) the effectiveness of these strategies
will depend on the student`attitude, motivation, learning`style, prior knowledge and
the learning atmosphere. Moreover, the lack of motivation in this country might
affect even more since it is not a bilingual country, and adding that cultural factors
affect the lack of adequate teacher`s strategies.

On one hand, the different methodologies used by the educators inside the
classroom had created an impact in Chilean society due to the improvement of
teacher's` vocation. On the other hand, it still not enough to create an adequate
plan to make the students acquire better the foreign language. For this reason,
teacher do not need to separate the language learning strategies with their
language learning styles, because it support learners to become a improved
apprentice (Gu, 2012). Furthermore, is very essential that professors teaches
different strategies within the class because the more teachers know about their
students' style interest, the more effectively they can orient their L2 instruction
(Oxford, 1990).
Analysis and assessment of their linguistic needs
In this research, some lack of linguistics skills that the student possess derive to a
necessity to discover different techniques to improve the learning strategies in his
L2. During the interview, the learner did not demonstrate any particular issues
within his pronunciation and fluency, however, the main concern that I could find,
was the lack of vocabulary that he present while answering the questions. The
learner could express a basic glossary in his linguistic expressions.
