A Hero for the Environment

For almost two decades of my existence in this world, plenty of natural catastrophe and
environmental dilemmas are taking place. Yet, we havent learned from it, instead, we ignore it
and just continue our dreadful actions to Mother Nature as if nothing happens.
At the present time, our country, the Philippines, is now longing for a help after
experiencing ample crises as it faced the hottest controversy about our corrupt public servants, as
it swept the fury of the bullet of the guns and goons in Zamboanga, as it terrified by the robust
intensity of the earthquake in Bohol and as it survived to the wrath of the super typhoon Yolanda
in Visayas. After all, what we need now is a hero for the environment, so dare to stand up and be
counted.
As a citizen of my beloved realm, I have a responsibility to take on, to lend my hands and
empathy to others and most especially to the environment. Doing small deeds, following the
rules, policies and regulations of all authorities must be done. Volunteering is my hobby that will
never be perished and removed on my mind. It is one of my ways in serving and helping our
country, doing community work is a great honor and a superb duty to undertake. I also joined
coastal clean-ups and tree planting activities to show my support in fighting and combating
climate change.
For this, I have realized that we must be vigilant on the current issues concerning to us.
Our spirit of Bayanihan must urge us to aid and save the environment from dimness. I believe
that even in a simple way, we can make it to a better one. We should also establish harmony to
our colleagues, forming a closely-knit, amicable bond to each other. Reinforcing the youth must
also be done.
Upholding service and integrity is a pursuit that comes from the heart and considers the
heart of others. Let our planet be a haven of heroes not by parasites. After all, what we need now
is a hero for the environment, so dare to stand up and be counted. Let us make a difference.
