Pubic Relations Plan of Action

Company/Organization Overview

The National Travel Bureau of Trinidad and Tobago will bring more tourism to the twin
island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. This bureau will make it into a top tourist
destination in the Caribbean. Through partnerships with various restaurants, resorts,
cruise lines, and airlines the bureau will highlight T&T as the best travel destination in
the Caribbean.

Plans for Growth

Major initiatives

Create relationships with local radio stations like Sweet FM 100.1 and
newspapers like Trinidad Express Newspaper to promote NTBTT and its events
Strategize with executives from Delta, Caribbean Airlines, InselAir, and Air
Caraibes for more non stop flights to T&T
Create a promotional video with the locals to play on the Caribbean flights. This
will highlight everything exciting and breathtaking in the Caribbean, making
tourists anxious to land.
Get Trinidad the number one spot for best beaches on the Forbes list within the
next 12 months

News Release Calendar

1/1/2017 Send out a Happy New Year letter to all our partners and a press release
highlighting upcoming events with the community, such as, Carnival
2/5/2017 Send out a press release on the promotional video asking for volunteers
3/5/2017 Send out a press release on upcoming radio interviews that NTBTT will be
doing and encourage people to tune in
5/5/2017 Celebrate the NTBTT being in business for six months by releasing a press
release thanking everyone for his or her support.
7/5/2017 Trinidad and Tobago beaches gets the number one spot on the Forbes Top 10
List of Most Beautiful Beaches

Events

Event #1 During Carnival the NTBTT will throw a party and invite supporters and
leadership within the NTBTT
Event #2 Plan a business luncheon with Air Caribbean to share in the success of a new
partnership
Event #3 Community jogging event with the locals to build a stronger personal
relationship between NTBTT and the community
Event #4 Job fair with NTBTT and its partners to hire the people who know the island
nation best and help make Trinidad and Tobago the place to visit.

Publications

The newsletter will be online and printed for those who dont have internet access. The
newsletter will include important events, press releases, links to social media accounts,
and the history of T&T. This newsletter will be sent out quarterly and the first story will
be on the making of the promotional video and behind the scenes. Participants in the
video will give direct quotes on their experience being in the video.

Speaking Opportunities

Opportunity #1 - The communications chair of NTBTT can make appearances on the


local radio station Sweet FM 100.1 to promote the upcoming events.
Opportunity #2 At the job fair the Human Resources manager can say a few words at
the beginning of the event thanking the attendees, and prompt everyone to ask questions
about the organizations.

Conclusion

This plan will allow NTBTT to make Trinidad and Tobago the most popular vacation
destination. This plan will make NTBTT and T&T successful because it values the
quality of living for the people and the preservation of the culture and tradition. The
bureau also values sharing the greatness of T&T with everyone, just like the locals do.
Putting the people first will create a close knit community, the support of the people will
make this successful.
