ENSMS CAREER FAIR

Our team of First Class Officers of the Merchant Marine is proud to invite you
to the first edition of the ENSMs career fair. We have worked in close cooperation with our schools management to plan this event in the headquarters of the
National Maritime College located in Le Havre.
We have organized this event with the ambition to :
Allow students and guests to communicate through meaningful exchanges.
Prepare the students to meet their future employer.
Provide our guests with enjoyable surroundings thanks to a team dedicated to
oversee the good running of the event.
THE FIRST CLASS OFFICER
OF THE MERCHANT MARINE
SCHOOL CURRICULUM:
Teaching
A
 3-year cycle to obtain a bachelors degree of nautical sciences
and Marine Engineering and an
apprentice first class officer of the
Merchant Marine diploma:
u A complete background in
mathematics, physics, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
u Teaching of nautical sciences,
ships engine plant management

and maintenance
u Unlimited Deck and Engine
officer STCW prerogatives after
12 months of cadetship.
u A good awareness of the shipping legal framework
u Teaching of international trade
and account management
Navigation
Between 2 and 3 months of
internship onboard vessels each
year in the bridge and engine departments right from the first year
of studies.

An intensive year of training (first


year of master degree)
u At least 6 months of navigation
as a cadet before getting the unlimited bridge and engine officer
of the watch STCW certificate.
u A continuous learning follow-up achieved by exchanges
between the students and the
school.
u A first experience of navigation
as deck or engine officer for
students who have completed
quickly their cadetship.

A school set up on 4 different campuses: Marseille, Nantes, Saint-Malo and Le


Havre. Each school is dedicated to a specific training course. All the students
attending the first class officer master program are studying in le Havre.
