Now that you have explored and familiarized yourself with QR Codes, and determined what
criteria are most important, you will use that knowledge to develop an QR lesson for your
students using QR codes.

Process: You will approach the development of your lesson as an instructional designer. You must
think of your objectives, correlating standards, TPACK, and more.

a. I will be focusing in chemistry on the topic of bonding.

a. Students will determine types of chemical bonding and describe the bonding that
takes place using terms from the scavenger hunt.
4. Create an outline, story board, or summary of your hunt idea(s). What will you use to
create your lesson/hunt? What are the themes or concepts? What do you hope the final
product will look like? How will you assess, or how will students show mastery?
a. To create my hunt, I am going to consider what I want my students to know about
bonding between atoms. For instance, they will need to know several vocabulary
words, such as electronegativity, ionic, and covalent. I will also consider interactions
or visuals that will aid students in the understanding of the material. One way of
doing this is by using magnets to describe a covalent bond. I will think of the big
themes or concepts first and use backward design to find a way for students to
achieve an understanding of the concept. My hopes are that the final product will be
a student-driven lesson where my students can engage and explore in the lesson
and have some fun doing so while obtaining all the information they would need. I
will assess understanding by having an in-class discussion with the teams at the
very end. I will also be having students create responses that they will need to
check with me before moving on to more parts of the hunt.
