TMR6201
TMR6201 TMR Magnetic Pattern Recognition Sensor
General Description
The TMR6201 magnetic pattern recognition sensor consists of Tunneling Magnetoresistance
(TMR) sensing elements, a high-quality magnet, a robust plastic base with outstanding mechanical
strength, and a durable non-magnetic stainless steel cover. The physical structure is shown in Fig. 1.

Notes:
(1)
The sensitivity of the TMR pattern recognition sensor is measured by a method using a current conducting wire, which is widely adopted
in testing of financial machinery and measurement equipment. A 0.1mm metal conducting wire is oriented orthogonally vs. the sensing
direction of the reader head, and the wire carries an AC current of 100mA at 60Hz. The reader head is placed above the conducting wire at
a distance of 0.1mm, which is the typical thickness of an RMB paper bill. When the reader head moves along its sensing direction, the
sensitivity is equal to the peak-to-peak voltage output of the detected AC signal amplified by 750 times. Since the TMR pattern recognition
sensor is sensitive to the direction that is parallel to the detection surface, while the conducting wire can only produce a much weaker
magnetic field in the parallel direction than in the perpendicular direction, it is recommended that users shall verify the TMR reader head
sensor using the bill counter or bill validator under real operating conditions. In general, the high sensitivity of the TMR pattern
recognition sensor ensures the stable output from the magnetized code words and weak magnetic patterns on an RMB paper bill.
(2)
The noise is measured by the peak-to-peak voltage signal output of the reader head sensor after applying an amplifying circuit with 1kHz
bandwidth and a gain of 10000. For further technical details of testing setup, please contact MDT.
