Semester Long Multimodal Project Proposal
For our semester long project we will be investigating the different conspiracies and
theories surrounding the works of Shakespeare. Many believe he did exist and is the true author
of many famous plays such as Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, or Hamlet. However, there is very
little recorded information on Shakespeare's early life, leaving scholars to believe he may not
have actually even existed. Others believe he existed, but due to his lack of recorded education,
another writer, or multiple writers may have used his name as a persona. We will be utilizing
Microsoft PowerPoint as our mode of presentation.
Project Plan
We will be researching Shakespeare's life as well as two different theories about his
works. We both will each be in charge of researching a different theory but will research
Shakespeare's life together at the library. The first theory we will be researching is the
Shakespeare never even existed, and is a created persona that someone or multiple people wrote
under. The other conspiracy that we will be researching is that Shakespeare was a real person,
but was not the one who wrote his works; they were simply published under his name. The
technology we plan on using is a computer, and once research is complete we will meet again to
create our PowerPoint presentation. The media we will create is a Microsoft PowerPoint, and we
also hope to access pictures from nonfiction books and perhaps even videos from the Internet,
from sites such as YouTube.

Justification
We believe our proposed plan is effective for our topic because it explores two different
sides of our topic, which would allow the audience to come to their own conclusion on whether
or not Shakespeare is real. Our plan provides us with ample time to complete all parts of the
project within the given timeframe. We think this topic would be interesting to the audience
because of its unique and slightly deviant presentation of Shakespeare; that is, we will not be
presenting about him; rather, we will be questioning him.
Roles and Responsibilities
Both members will be responsible for researching their specific theory. We are also both
going to put the PowerPoint presentation together. Each member is responsible for keeping
contact with the other.
Timeline
We plan on having all of our research done by October 22. All research and sources
should be compiled into a shared document and organized works cited page. The PowerPoint
presentation will be finished by November 19, and all changes and edits necessary will be done
by November 26, which will give us plenty of time to practice for the class presentation starting
November 30. We will have certain days to meet up in the library at least once or twice a week,
which will be decided further in the future. At those meetups we will compile research and work
on creating the presentation.
We hope to create a presentation that enraptures the audience with its unique topic and
interesting presentation. In the end, our goal is not to persuade the audience to one of our
viewpoints, but instead to allow them to come to their own conclusion based on the information
we provide.
