Opportunity in your classroom: I would use it for Flipped Classroom, or when the
students need extra help learning the material
What technologies would be required to implement this proposed learning activity in a
classroom? Computer, other mobile devices
Describe how the following features are addressed in this learning experience (note: all of
them may not be addressed in the project, but most should be if you are reaching a high
LoTi Level.):
a. Collaboration with peers, near-peers, mentors outside their classroom and often
beyond their school: Dr. Math allows you to browse the archive, write to Dr. Math
or connect with a tutor. The site also offers problems of the week, which could be
an activity classmates do together.
b. Student-centered learning and knowledge creation (collecting original data and or
producing original products as a result of engaging in the project): Solving the
projects of the month that the site offers
c. Higher-order thinking: Working on upper level problems
d. Students publishing their original work to others who will use/care about their
product: Youre allowed to answer questions and submit them so that others will
be able to find the answer if they are ever looking.
