Humber Short Duration Trip Fundraiser
Background:
Humber College offers numerous global study opportunities, reflecting the growing
internationalization of education and internship opportunities. These experiential
learning global adventures help broaden the students horizons and provide
professional development opportunities. Each year, the School of Hospitality,
Recreation and Tourism offers short duration trips that are 10 - 14 days in length
and travel in May or June. They are not connected to curriculum however they are
focused on experiential learning. Trip destinations may change each year and are
championed by faculty in the School of HRT. The cost of the trips average $2500 to
$3000 per student.
In previous years, each group of students who are selected to go on each trip have
been responsible for fundraising for their trip. To assist and streamline this process,
this year for the first time, the School of HRT is earmarking events to fundraise for
these trips.
The trips in 2017 are Peru, Australia, Nunavut and Las Vegas. This RFP is
specifically for the Las Vegas trip.
The Las Vegas trip is focused on the Event Management and Hospitality
Management programs.
The dates of travel are June 18 - 24, 2017 6 nights. The content of the trip
includes the MPI World Education Congress. Approximately 20 30 students will
