Monitoring

Assignment: Target
By: Jesus Perez
Fortune Company #36 Target Corporation, Inc.
Goal: Increase followers & Improve their Image Brand on
Social Media
Overall: Target can definitely improve its social media presence and in doing
so gain more followers and help increase their image. One of their weakest
social media sites is YouTube, currently sitting in at a D- according to the
website SocialBlade. Its strongest social media sites are Facebook and Twitter

but they can be stronger.

As you can see, their YouTube involvement is not very good. They have been
losing subscribers over the last 30 days and their views are in the negative,
probably because they have been deleting videos. Target uploads almost
every day and a lot of their videos are less than a minute long with views
being anywhere from 3, 000 to 7,000,000.

YouTube Stats

Nevertheless, their total views are constant with an increase January 2013
followed by a dip in March of the same year. Despite only having 122,726
subscribers, their monthly subs also seem to be rising slowly over the years.
It a flux when it comes to subscriber counts because, as mentioned earlier,
they are currently losing subs or 6.9% over the last 30 days. Targets
comment section interactivity can be summed up as follows: There is none.
The problem is that since they pump out videos almost every day, their
channel becomes saturated with quick uploads that many people do not
have time to respond. Target never seems to interact with their customer
either. I havent seen a single comment from them addressing anything to
their potential customers.
Targets strength is the measure that they are being discussed in social
media. As you can see, their strength is excellent and their reach is great so

a lot of people are talking about them but their sentiment leaves something
to be desired. They have way more neutral comments than positive
comments about them and for every good comment about them there is 1
bad one. Those numbers are not enough if they wish to improve their image
brand. They also do not have enough people who will continue to talk about
their brand as its only at 16%. Targets top 3 key words are Target, price,
and save which can be seen as a good thing. If people are seeing the word
price and save then it could mean that Target is being mentioned as the
store to go to if you want to save money and get great deals and thats how
Target can get more potential customers and followers.

Tweeting has really become a big thing for Target.

They really took to it in 2015 and have since
continued to grow their social footprint and
because of this now
output around 19
tweets per day.
Not only do they
have a good social
standing on Twitter
but they also reply to their customers more.
Whether its complaints or customer service, they
are respondent on Twitter and seem dedicated to
helping their brand thrive.

Target slightly increases in search results as the years go on but the peaks
are always in November and December because of the Holiday season and
thats when they send out the ads to save on items.

Fanpage Karma

Targets Facebook is massive at 23.4M fans but they hardly post on it. They
dont do many interactions on it so they all they have going for them is that
they already have massive support.
