WHAT IVED LEARNED

My paper will consist of what new skills Ive learned through this course, certain techniques I
may use when I become an educator and my views on certain topics we have discussed this
semester prior to technology.

Concepts and new skills I have learned about technology in education are flipped classrooms
which are learning techniques and certain homework assignments are reversed which consists of
short video lectures are viewed by students at home before class that day. Whats beneficial with
flipped classrooms are that absent students can stay ahead, its a good resource for teacher
assistants and even students who are having a hard time following the curriculum, and you can
attach important documents such as quizzes check for mistakes along with video links. Also,
skills that need to be learned to maintain a flipped classroom would be independent learning,
critical thinking, collaboration, and digital literacy.
Before the flipped classrooms, there were auto-tutorials, team learning, peer

instruction, inquiry learning, Just-inTime

Teaching, blended classrooms,
hybrid courses, and POGIL (processoriented
guided inquiry learning). Herreid, C., Schiller, N., Herreid, K., & Wright, C. (2014). Case

WHAT IVED LEARNED

I have also learned that technology in the school systems will make students more globally
aware and being more on a global level, and every year the internet will continue to change the
face of education forever.
The process has changed my way of thinking about technology in education by realizing that as
much as I was so against of the internet being used in the classrooms, that no matter how many
reasons I had why it was negative it made me see that technology will always grow and get better
through years to come and theres no way for it to not be incorporated in the school systems in
the society we live in today. I do believe I will be able to intergrade technology in my classroom
assignments, especially when it comes to introducing something new because I learned through
this course that its all about balance when it comes to certain exposures and it will also give
students a broaden horizon when it comes to learning different subjects.
Integrating technology in Education is like how God works in our lives when we are in an
uncomfortable point in transitioning into something better and theres so many negative reasons
why you should stay content where you are, but there are even more reasons why you should
walk in faith and go forth in this new thing and know that you will continue to grow in it. The
Bible says "Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He
shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday" (Psalm 37:56.) and in Ecclesial 3:1 it reads, To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under
heaven.
This is like the process with technology being part of the school systems, its a positive thing and
there are a lot of reasons why it could be bad but in the end the cyber world will continue to
grow and we should embrace the change and why it is so beneficial to us now.

WHAT IVED LEARNED

Integrating technology in education fulfills the mission of the college of arts and science by
preparing future educators in Christs being acceptable to change and think a lot bigger and never
small. Also, it fulfills the tasks of us as Christians to be more creative and strong in what we are
using to teach our future students and in the process, being the light in the school systems by
how we react to certain changes we cannot change when it comes to technology in education.
