1. What requirements must you meet in order to study abroad? (i.e. GPA, etc.)
The requirements that you have to meet for study abroad, is that you have to have a cumulative GPA of
2.75 for semester or year-long programs, and a GPA of a 2.50 for summer programs. You must have at
least sophomore standing during term abroad, and you must not be in final semester of degree program
during period abroad. You must also have the approval of the Office of international Programs and your
department.
2. What are the three (3) different types of study abroad programs available to students?
The three types of study programs that are available to students are, Exchange, Direct Study Abroad, and
Faculty-Led programs. Exchange provides students an affordable way to participate in study abroad. The
Direct Study Abroad Program is administered by an organization offering study abroad support services
such as SIT, AIFS, and ISA. The Faculty-Led programs that are organized and/or accompanied by an
NCAT faculty member, usually during the summer.
3. What are the deadlines for applying for study abroad?
The deadlines for applying for study abroad is, in the Spring, October the 14th, in the Summer, it is
March the 15th, and in the Fall, it is March the 15th also.
4. What are three different ways that you can raise money to fund your trip?
Three different ways that I can raise money to fund for my school, is by applying for different
scholarships, and financial aid, and lastly I can do a charity event that will help me raise money for my
trip.
5. Name two (2) scholarships that can fund you for your trip and how you meet the requirements?
Two scholarships that can fund my trip, are the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, and the
Historically Black colleges & Universities Undergraduate program, for The National Association for
Equal Opportunity in Higher Education. The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship requires for
you to be a U.S. Citizen, currently enrolled as an undergraduate, and you must be receiving a Pell Grant,
during the term of your internship. You must also be in the process of applying for internships, and
lastly you must be preparing to study in a country that is not currently under a travel warning issued by

the U.S. Department of State. For the Historically Black College & University Undergraduate program,
you must be an undergraduate student, and you must also attend an HBCU.
6. Where would you like to travel to for your study abroad experience and why?
I would like to travel to either London, or Japan for my study abroad experience, because I have always
wanted to travel the world, and get to do my field of work in these specific places. I am anxious, because
I am excited about what would happen, if I could be able to go one day.
7. Does A&T offer this as an option? If not, then what would be your second choice destination?
Yes, A&T offer has this as an option to be able to do International internships, and study abroad. If A&T
was to deny my choice of offer, then my second choice of destination, would be Washington, D.C, where
there is plenty of network, and opportunities.
