AUDIT AND ASSURANCE oers skills from economic,

informa&onal and regulatory perspec&ves. A primary
objec&ve of the course is to introduce and develop abroad
theore&cal understanding on fundamental audi&ng concepts
(including such concepts as asser&ons, audit risks,
materiality, risk assessment, client acceptance, planning,
internal control, evidence, repor&ng, audit quality, etc.). In
this course, stages of a nancial statement audit (for public
and private companies) are explored and other assurance
services are referred to.

1. AUDIT DOCUMENTATION / (06 : 02)
Nature of audit documentation, audit programme, audit
2. AUDIT EVIDENCE / (06 : 02)
Nature of audit evidence, the audit evidence sources and the financial statement assertions.
3. AUDIT ON FINANCIAL STATEMENT / (09:03)
Basic concepts related to review recognition and cycle in control risk. Procedure of specific audit in cash and bank balances, investment, trade receivables and
payables and inventories and work in progress.
4. AUDITING IN COMPUTERISED INFORMATION SYSTEM ENVIRONMENT / (03:01)
Internal control structure and assesses control risk to complete the Electronic Data Processing (EDP). Effect of computerised information system in the auditing
process.
5. AUDIT REVIEW / (06:02)
Procedures that the auditor would carry out in completing the audit before the issuance of an appropriate auditors report. Procedures performed at this stage of the
audit process, commonly involve the review for contingent liabilities, commitments, subsequent events and final evidential evaluation procedures.
6. AUDIT REPORT / (03 : 01)
Types of audit report and situation in which the type of audit reports issued.
7. AUDIT ISSUES AND LEGAL LIABILITIES /
Analysis of the fraud and errors and presents overview of current issues in assurances engagements. Legal liabilities in auditing and internal system of quality
control.
8. CORPORATE GOVERNANCE / (06:02)
Definition and the elements in corporate governance, and audit committee functions.

ASSESSMENT
The course assessment is carried out in two section:
i. Coursework Assessment (CA) - 50%
CA that measures knowledge, practical skills and generic skills are carried out in the form of continuous
assessment. CA total score comprises the knowledge and practical marks ONLY. The generic skill mark is not
part of the coursework assessment mark.
ii. Final Examination Assessment (FE) - 50%
