Operating Instructions V15 with AS-Interface

The V15 with AS-Interface has 8 inputs and 8 outputs. The V15 AS-i interface occupies 2 addresses
(connection 1 and connection 2) in the AS-i-system. Power to the valves are supplied by the black cable (24V
DC), so it is possible to switch off the valves separately (Emergency OFF).
The addresses are programmed by using a standard programming device. The plugs the programming
devices will be connected with, are installed behind the covering screw on the top side of the housing. It is not
necessary to disconnect the AS-i cable while defining the addresses. The address for the different
connections are configured individually via separate plugs. For the connection of the addressing device with
the interface a special address-cable is necessary (Order-No. 894 605 449 2). Addresses from 1 31 are
valid. It is possible to change the address 15 times, after that the last valid value remains. To ensure the
operational reliability of the system, the valves power supply has to be switched off during the
configuration of the addresses.

AS-i connection 1 controls the first 4 coils at the valve-unit, connection 2 the next 4 coils. Active outputs are
indicated with yellow LEDs.
Sensors with 2 and 3 conductor technique can be connected to the input M12 plugs. The sensors are
supplied by the AS-i-interface (see Table 1). This supply is short circuit protected.

The LED AUX indicates the voltage supply for the valves (LED on: 24 V-valves available) . A red and a
green LED indicate the operational condition of each AS-i connection. In case of discontinuation of the
BUS-communication (failure of the master) the outputs of the valves will be reset after 40 ...100 ms
(watchdog).
