Shoot Plans:

The shoot will take place on the 17th of November and will take place in the airports of New
York and London. I want to show that the act of going to the airport and going to a new country
is exciting and show the start of an adventure that anyone can have. I will be taking photos of
people in the airport getting ready to go to a new country as well as the airport itself. I will be
using a Canon 100D with standard lens in this digital shoot. I will have a tripod for longer
exposure shots and my digital camera.
The next shoots will take place in New York once I arrive. These shoots will take place over the
next 6 days. It will include me traveling around New York City, capturing interesting views and
people that I think might attract people to the city. I will be using a digital camera (Canon 100D
with standard lense 18mm to 55mm).
No equipment needs to be hired as all is my own.
Transport is required around New York and the airplane there and back.
No materials needed as I will be focusing on the place as it is not changing anything.
It will take me a week to do this shoot in New York.
The Budget is around 2000 pounds.
If I was to charge a client:
Hire DSLR camera for 7 days (good for high quality photos): Canon 5D mark iv = 616 pounds
Transport to New York and around New York: 1000 pounds (654 for return ticket and rest for
travel around city)
My time: 840 pounds (10 pound an hour work 12 hours a day)
Overall: 2456 pounds
Health and Safety:
In terms of health and safety the brief is quite safe. The only real issues that might occur are if I
get lost as I dont know New York and may navigate incorrectly or if I get mugged by someone in
New York. However I think the possibilities of these both are quite slim as I have google maps
on my phone and wont be taking photos in any doggy areas in New York so most likely wont
get mugged. My camera gear could also get lost on the travel to New York however I am
carrying it on my carry on bag so it will be with me the whole travel making that less likely to
happen.
Risk Assessment:
A risk will be as I am travelling in a new city I have never been to on my own. It is a possibility I
could get lost and therefore be unable to produce the images I want to. To reduce this risk I will
have areas where I want to travel to saved offline on google maps onto my phone.
Another risk is that my baggage could get lost in the journey there, meaning I could have no
equipment and therefore be unable to take any photos while in New York. To reduce this risk I

will carry all my camera equipment in my carry on bag keeping it with me at all times through the
journey.
My contingency Plan:
To make sure I dont loose any photos through corrupting or losing/destroying sd cards I have a
contingency plan set in place. Firstly at the end of every day I will backup my photos onto my
computer and memory stick and then will upload them to the cloud on onedrive. This means that
no matter what happens it is likely I will not loose my photos as they are in lots of different
places, in different forms. I will also bring my film camera as well as my digital camera so if
anything happens to my digital camera I can still take photos. I will also be bringing 8 batteries
and 3sd cards so if I cant find an outlet I can still use my digital camera for the week. Also if an
sd card is filled I still have 2 others to use so I can take a lot of photos.
