The magazine article had been written to compare abortions to the causes of premature birth .
This article discusses the significant increase in preterm labor in the United States during the
last forty to fifty years . Researchers were curious as to whether there might be a connection to
abortion, legalized in 1973. Researchers believe premature babies may tend to die or have
disabilities for their entire lives . The author of this article states the hospital cost pertaining to
premature birth combined with abortions equal to about more than the average of $1.2 billion a
year. Premature babies may have flaws such as effects of breathing , hearing and even eye site
complications due to early arrival. This article focuses on premature issues which would assist
my research paper .

per year . Researcher believe genes play a huge part in communication with the mothers white
blood cells , that are connected to early labor . Once stated , Currently the best test for premature
birth risk is a vaginal swab and a cervical ultrasound, which has an accuracy rate of about 65
percent.

the major risk for preterm birth (22 to 31 weeks' gestation) by 38 percent. The article mainly
talks about the controlled thought for the maternal depression , the parents age , smoking , drugs
and many other factors .
