Dear Mrs. Hochholter:
You made an excellent choice by purchasing a Magic-Whirl washing machine
for your home. Magic-Whirl has the most durable laundry products in the
market and is known for excellent customer service ratings through surveys
conducted by J.D. Power and Associates. We make sure to keep our
customers satisfied by offering a low-price repair service plan: the Peace of
Mind plan for only $10.99 a month which covers approved mechanical
repairs. This plan includes highly trained professional technicians who travel
to our customers homes for repairs.
Our records show that there was an appointment made for an in-home
inspection by one of our technicians for your non-operating machine. It also
indicates that the technician found the problems listed below:
1. Motor damage caused by:
Inadequate electrical supply circuit (machine was plugged
into a 15 amp circuit which caused overheating. The
correct circuit is 20 amp.)
Motor short-circuiting (water flooding caused by a burst
water supply hose at the rear faucet)
2. Cracked tub basket supports caused by:
The washing of heavy rugs which was previously
mentioned by you (overloaded wash cycles)
Although your Peace of Mind plan is currently active, the plan does not
cover the observed damage because the machine needed to be installed by
a Magic-Whirl technician at time of purchase where adequate circuit supply
would have been provided. The plan does not cover a machine installed by a
non-technician. Proper-use instructions would have been given if the
machine was installed by one of our certified technicians.

As included in the proper care of the machine, heavy rugs should not be
washed in these machines for it could easily crack the machines frame. It is
also the customers duty to periodically check the rear water inlet hoses for
cracks or tears that might end in a rupture and flooding. Also, apart from the
Peace of Mind plan, the manufacturers warranty for the machine has
expired (manufacturers warranty only covers manufacturing defects).
Because of the reasons mentioned above, we unfortunately cannot repair
the machine free of charge.
However, it is still possible to get you back into washing your clothes
immediately with the with a better washing machine which would be
installed correctly by our technicians. You also have the options to:
1. Repair the machine at your own expense, which includes costs of
labor and parts
2. Purchase one of our manufacture refurbished laundry machines at a
discounted price, or
3. Purchase a brand-new model of the same machine with a discount
coupon (see details below).
