About the University
Uttarakhand Ayurved University was established by the Government of Uttarakhand
vide Uttarakhand Ayurved University Act, 2009 for the purpose of ensuring, effective and
systematic instructions, teaching, training, research and development in Ayurved. After the
creation of Uttarakhand State from Uttar Pradesh, various efforts have been made by state
government to bring socio-economic change in this backward state with difficult geographical
conditions. Despite its economic backwardness state is enriched with its vivid flora and
fauna, and is well-known specifically for vast potential of high altitude medicinal plants and
herbs. The economic and scientific usage of such diversified resources may be a primary source
of overall economic viability and sustainable growth culminating into radical economic growth
of local people. With this view, state government has already taken various steps in this
direction and the establishment of first Ayurved University in the state may be certainly seen as
a giant step in internationally acclaimed field of Ayurved.
Call for application
It has been now well established that scientific approach needs to be taken in order to
establish Ayurved globally. For this purpose, it is equally important to have world class
academic and research facilities together with research centre of excellence within the
premises of this Ayurved University. This would fulfill the long existing gap of correlation
between scientific basis analyses to Ayurvedic form of medical treatment. Hence, the university
has taken step to start full time PhD program in various subjects of Ayurved and Biomedical
Sciences to carry out research in core areas of Ayurved including its fundamentals. Uttarakhand

Faculty of Ayurveda and Biomedical Sciences through all india entrance examination.

Nonrefundable application fee of Rs. 5,000 (five thousand rupees) for General and OBC
candidates and 4,000 (four thousand rupees) for SC/ST/PH candidates in the form of demand
draft (DD) in favor of “Finance Controller, Uttarakhand Ayurved University, Dehradun; Payable
at Dehradun” must be submitted together with application form,

‘Please note that PhD program running at UAU
is under self-finance scheme, there are no
fellowships / stipends given to the candidates. However, candidates who qualified JRF will be
availed fellowships from their respective funding agencies through University. The University
reserves the right to make changes in the fee structure.
Documents required
Self-attested copies of Mark sheet / Degree of Postgraduate exam and cast certificate
{in case of reserved category) are mandatory to submit at the time of admission. Candidates
who have appeared for Master's Degree Exam and whose results are awaiting should send an
self-attested copy of last semester / year mark sheet.
Minimum required marks/ qualifying marks
The applicant should have scored a minimum of 55% (50% for SC/ST) in aggregate at
postgraduate / master exam. If letter grades are assigned instead of marks at qualifying/PG
examination, the candidate must produce grade conversion certificate. It is mandatory to score
50 marks for General, 45 for OBC candidates and 35 marks for SC/ST/PH candidates in the PhD
entrance test.

‘The question paper will be comprised of 100 questions of 1 mark each, in which 0.25 will
be deducted for one wrong answer. Paper consists from entire syllabus of specialized
subject in post-graduation /MD/MS (Ay).
Time limit is 90 minutes.
Incomplete application will be summarily rejected.
