Johnny's Countdown 2015-2016 - Review

Johnny's Countdown concert is held every year since 1998. JCD 2015-2016 is their
17th concert. The background of the yearly concert is to celebrate new years. Fuji TV
broadcasts the show since 2013. The artists that are included in the concert are Arashi,
Tackey and Tsubasa, Johnny's West, Sexy Zone, Kis-My-Ft2, KAT-TUN, TOKIO, Hey!
Say! JUMP, ABC-Z, NEWS, Kanjani8, V6, and Kinki Kids.
Johnny's Countdown concert that I wanted to review is their 17th concert. The song
lists are divided by collaboration medley, group song shuffle medley, KAT-TUN 10th
Anniversary medley and the top 5 dream duet with a surprise appearance. This concert they
made this year is a special one since fans can choose a song and two chosen Johnny's will
do a duet of the song chosen. Those songs are Truth by Arashi, Venus by Tackey and
Tsubasa, Ee ja nai ka by Johnny's WEST, Sexy Zone by Sexy Zone, Thank You Jan by KisMy-Ft2, Real Face by KAT-TUN, Lyric by TOKIO, Weekender by Hey! Say! JUMP,
Moonlight Walker by ABC-Z, Chankapaana by NEWS, Osaka Romanesque by Kanjani8,
Ai Nanda by V6, and Glass no Shounen by Kinki Kids. While the shuffle medley songs are
Cha Cha Champion by Sexy Zone which was performed by Kanjani8, Musekinin Hero by
Kanjani8 which is performed by TOKIO, Love You Only by TOKIO which is performed
by Sexy Zone, Zundoko Paradise by Johnny's WEST , Ultra Music Power by Hey! Say!
JUMP which was performed by Kis-My-Ft2, SHE! HER! HER! by Kis-My-Ft2 which was
performed by KAT-TUN, Ame no Melody by Kinki Kids which is performed by Tackey
and Tsubasa, Yume Monogatari by Tackey and Tsubasa which was performed by Kinki
Kids, Za ABC 5 stars by ABC-Z which was performed by Johnny's WEST, MUSIC FOR
THE PEOPLE by V6 which was performed by ABC-Z, Monster by Arashi which was
performed by NEWS, and lastly, NEWS Nippon by NEWS which was performed by
Arashi. KAT-TUN's 10th year Anniversary medley started off with Bokura no Machi de
from 2006.
The Top 5 Dream duet songs are A.R.A.S.H.I which is performed by Sakurai Sho
and Kikuchi Fuma of Sexy Zone, Nihon Yoitoko Makafushigi sung by Higashiyama
Noriyuki and Ohno Satoshi of ARashi, Surprise: Seishun Amigo by the Nobuta wo
Produce tandem Yamashita Tomohisa and Kamenashi Kazuya, Wish performed by
Matsumoto Jun of Arashi and Kawai Fumito of ABC-Z, Ai no Beat and Zukkoke Otoko

Michi sung by Kitayama Hiromitsu of Kis-My-Ft2 and Okura Tadayoshi of Kanjani8 and
Ashita ni Mukatta performed by Takizawa Hideaki and Shibutani Subaru of Kanjani8.
The first performance is Arashi then followed by Tackey and Tzubasa, Johnny's
WEST, Sexy Zone, Kis-My-Ft2, KAT-TUN, TOKIO, Hey! Say! JUMP, AKBC-Z, NEWS,
Kanjani8, V6, and Kinki Kids. This JCD Concert that makes it so awesome is the duet of
YamaPi (Yamashita Tomohisa) and Kame (Kamenashi Kazuya). The overwhelming
response came out by YamaPi's performance. YamaPi was originally not scheduled to
attend JCD, but fans still send their requests to nominate them as duo. Surprisingly that
night, the reunion of Shuji and Akira was seen, singing Seishun Amigo after 6 years. The
fans inside Tokyo Dome exploded in joy. Kame thanked the fans in the end by giving us a
flashback of the Shuji-Akira bromance 10 years ago by hugging YamaPi from the back.
This 17th JCD concert was better. They made fans participated by choosing the
artists they want to perform. It was completely performed by all Johnny's Artists. Arashi
hosted the concert very well. The medleys were nice. Also, the stage and lighting were so
good. Especially because they held the performances in separated places. V6 who stayed in
Kohaku appeared via VTR while Hey! Say! JUMP who held their own Live Countdown at
Kyocera Dome in Osaka performed via livestream.
This concert was a success. They performed well. There are so many nostalgic
songs, combis and surprising performances. There's no incident like this that happened last
JCD 2014-2015. Many fans likes this year's concert. This was an awesome JCD concert.
It's really a countdown.
