Format:

50 multiple choice questions worth 1 mark each. The questions are a mix of theory questions (in multiple choice
format), true and false statements (in multiple choice format), problems (in multiple choice format), and questions
based on information presented in graphs (in multiple choice format). Approximately 12% of the exam is on material
in Chpts 1-5, 14% on material covered in Chpts 6, 8&9, 10 and 11, and the rest is on material in Chpts 12-18

Exam

Instructions: Place your valid UWO student ID card on the edge of your desk. Other items allowed on your desk
include pencil, pen, eraser, ruler and nonprogrammable/nongraphing calculator (but lids/covers must be removed
and placed either under your desk or in your backback).
Electronic devices MUST BE TURNED OFF and stored in your backpack. You are also banned from wearing or
having on your desk any kind of wristwatch/timepiece during the exam (they must be stored in your backpack). If
you are caught using or in possession of an electronic devise or wearing or having on your desk any kind of
wristwatch/timepiece you will be reported as having cheated and subject to academic sanctions. Time will be displayed
either on the wall clock in the room or on the rooms projector screen.
Your question paper and answers must be directly in front of you at all times. If you expose your answers to other
students in any way during the exam (i.e. by slouching in your desk, moving your paper to one side, etc.) you will be
reported as having cheated and subject to academic sanctions.

Missed exam:

If you miss an exam due to illness or other extenuating circumstances, you must notify me of your absence within 48 hours
of the start-time of the missed exam and provide documentation to your Facultys Academic Counselling Office. If you
miss an exam for medical reasons, you should visit a doctor to obtain documentation of your illness (I strongly urge you to
do this the day of the missed exam) and, when you are well enough, fill in the Student Medical Certificate form
https://studentservices.uwo.ca/secure/medical_document.pdf and return it to your Facultys Academic Counseling Office. If
the office approves your documentation you will be given a Request for a Special Exam form that will need to be signed
by myself (or in my absence by the undergraduate coordinator of economics, Maureen OConnell, SSC 4075), the
economics department, and the deans office. Your makeup exam will be scheduled at another time during the final exam
period. Makeup exams will be in the same format as the regularly scheduled exam.
