Mondira Sinha-Ray was born in Calcutta. She was educated in India and the UK, where she earned her Ph, D, in Economic Geography from University of London, She has pursued a life-long career in teaching and has been extensively involved in teaching the Bengali language to children in UK schools. She has also served as a Principal Examiner for GCSE Bengali. She holds a Diploma in Interpreting and serves as an Examiner for the Institute of Linguists and also a Local Authority interpreter of the Bengali language. She is ve passionate about keeping an individual's mother tongue and culture alive while teaching English to non-English speaking students. She is deeply involved in voluntecring with a focus on the minority ethnic communities, Mondira Sinha-Ray lives in Buckinghamshire, UK with her husband and they have a son, daughter-in-law and ewo grandsons.
