EXPERIMENT NO -1
OBJECTIVE: - To draw a circle and rectangle having 6 holes created by using pattern
Command.
PROCEDURE:STEP 1:

Go to start menu and choose all program then move to PTC and click on
proewild fire to run the program.

STEP 2:

Choose file> new then select part feature. Go to extrude tool button on the
base feature toolbar.

STEP 3:

To create the sketch for the extrude feature, you first need to select the
sketching plane for the model.

STEP 4:

The FRONT datum plane will be selected as the sketching plane.


Click on OK to enter in to the sketching mode

STEP 5:

Choose the Create circle button from the right Tool chest. Draw a circle.
Enter the height of the extrude feature as 50. And click on OK to complete
extrude

STEP 6:

Choose hole button from the right tool bar hole dashboard appears at the
button of the window. Place the hole using placement tab and click on OK to
complete hole feature.

STEP 7:

Select the feature to pattern, the click to the pattern button from the modify
toolbar.

STEP 8:

Choose the angular dimension. Enter the number of instance and angular
increment for each pattern. And Click OK to finish pattern.

STEP 9:

For each rectangular part feature choose create rectangle button in sketching
mode. And choose liner dimension while using pattern command in steed of
angular dimension. And click Ok to finish.

EXPERIMENT NO -2
OBJECTIVE:- To draw a typical solid object using sweep operation
PROCEDURE:STEP 1:

Go to start menu and choose all programs then move PTC and click on
proewildfire to run the program.

STEP 2:

Choose file> new then select part feature

STEP 3:

Go to sweep tool button on the base feature toolbar.

STEP 4:

It will prompt you to select the trajectory or sketch the trajectory. Choose
sketch trig, to enter into the sketching mode. Click OK to finish sketcher.

STEP 5:

Now you have to draw the section which will sweep over the sketched
trajectory.

STEP 6:

Click on OK to complete sweep feature.

EXPERIMENT NO -3

OBJECTIVE: To construct a solid object with a rotational sweep command in 3D


PROCEDURE:
STEP 1:

Go to start menu and choose all programs then move PTC and click on
proewildfire to run the program.

STEP 2:

Choose file> new then select part feature

STEP 3:

Go to insert > helical sweep > protrusion button on the base feature toolbar

STEP 4:

The attribute menu is displayed. The Constant > Thru Axis > Right Handed
option are selected by default

STEP 5:

You are promoted to select a sketching plane. Select the FRONT datum plane
from the graphics screed. Once you enter the sketcher environment, sketch
the trajectory and dimension it

STEP 6:

You need to draw a center line in the sketch about which the spring will be
rotated. And also show the direction along which the spring will form.

STEP 7:

Draw the section of the spring such that the center of circle coincides with the
intersection of the two perpendicular lines.

STEP 8:

Enter the value of pitch as 20. Choose the OK button to finish protrusion

EXPERIMENT NO -4

OBJECTIVE: To construct a solid object using resolve command with 270 degree angle
PROCEDURE:
STEP 1:

Go to start menu and choose all programs then move PTC and click on
proewildfire to run the program.

STEP 2:

Choose file> new then select part feature. Go to revolve tool button on the
base feature toolbar.

STEP 3:

To create the sketch for the revolve feature, you first need to select the
sketching plane for the model.

STEP 4:

The FRONT datum plane will be selected as the sketching plane. Click on
OK to enter into the sketching mode

STEP 5:

Draw the centre line which is the axis of revolution. Draw any sketch on one
side of the axis and dimension it. Click on OK to complete sketch.

STEP 6:

Enter the angle of rotation as 270 degree about which sketched entities will
revolve.

STEP 7:

Click OK to finish the revolve command.

EXPERIMENT NO -5
OBJECTIVE: To draw an assembly of nut & bolt created in part feature
PROCEDURE:
STEP 1:

Go to start menu and choose all programs then move PTC and click on
proewildfire to run the program:

FOR BOLT FEATURE:


STEP 2:

Choose file new then select part feature. For creating assembly first we need
to create part feature of nut & bolt. Go to extrude tool button on the base
feature toolbar.

STEP 3:

To create the sketch for the extrude feature, you first need to select the
sketching plane for the model.

STEP 4:

The FRONT datum plane will be selected as the sketching plane.


Click on OK to enter into sketching mode.

STEP 5:

Choose the create rectangle button from the right Tool chest and dimension it
as square. Enter the height of the extrude feature as 50. And click on OK to
complete extrude

STEP 6:

Go to Insert > helical sweep > cut button on the feature toolbar.

STEP 7:

The attributes menu is displayed. The Constant > Thru Axis > Right Handed

STEP 8:

feature toolbar.

STEP 3:

To create the sketch for the extrude feature, you first need to select the
sketching plane for the model.

STEP 4:

The FRONT datum plane will be selected as the sketching plane.


Click on OK to enter into the sketching mode.

STEP 5:

Choose the Create rectangle button from the right Tool chest and dimension it
as square. Enter the height of the extrude feature as 50. And click on OK to
complete extrude

STEP 6:

To create the sketch for the second extrude feature, you first need to select the
sketching plane for the model.

STEP 7:

The FRONT datum plane will be selected as the sketching plane. Click on
OK to enter into the sketching mode

STEP 8:

Choose the Create circle button from the right Tool chest and dimension it as
Square. Enter the height of the extrude feature as 200. And click on OK to
complete extrude

STEP 9:

Go to Insert > helical sweep>protrusion button on the base feature toolbar

STEP 10:

ASSEMBALY FEATURE:
STEP 2:

Choose File> new then select assembly feature. For creating assembly of
already created part feature of nut & bolt.

STEP 3:

Go to Add Component to assembly button from the right tool chest, a file
browser will open and prompt you to select part feature which we going to
assemble

STEP 4:

Import both nut & Bolt part feature using add component button.

STEP 5:

When we import each file a Component placement window will displayed.

There we have to choose type of constants, component reference and assembly reference.
STEP 6:

Choose constants type as insert, helical thread of bolts as component


reference, and thread of nut as assembly reference.

STEP 7:

Click OK to finish assembly.

EXPERIMENT NO -6
OBJECTIVE: To draw a spanner through 3D wire frame model.
PROCEDURE:
STEP 1:

Go to start menu and choose all programs then move PTC and click on
proewildfire to run the program:

STEP 2:

Choose file>new then select part feature. Go to extrude tool button on the
base feature toolbar.

STEP 3:

To Create the sketch for the extrude feature, you first need to select the
sketching plane for the model.

STEP 4:

The FRONT datum plane will be selected as the sketching plane.


Click on OK to enter into the sketching mode.

STEP 5:

Choose the Create circle button from the right Tool chest. Draw a circular
portion of spanner and dimension it. Enter the height of the extrude feature as
20. And Click on OK to complete extrude.

STEP 6:

Go to extrude tool button again from base feature toolbar.

STEP 7:

To create the sketch for the extrude feature, you first need to select the
sketching plane for the model.

STEP 8:

The RIGHT datum plane will be selected as the sketching plane.


Click on OK to enter into sketching mode.

STEP 9:

Choose the Create rectangle button from the right Tool Chest. Draw a
Rectangle handle bar of spanner and dimension it. Enter the height of the
extrude feature as 200. And click on to complete extrude.

STEP 10:

Go to extrude tool button again from the base feature toolbar.

STEP 11:

To create the sketch for the extrude feature you first need to select the
sketching plane for the model.

STEP 12:

The FRONT datum plane will be selected as the sketching plane. Click on Ok
to enter into the sketching mode.

STEP 13:

Create sketch over inside of handle bar with a margin of 15. Enter the depth
of extrude in 10. Choose now change the direction of the protrusion by using
flip and select remove material. Choose the OK button to finish protrusion.

STEP 14:

Choose round button from the modify toolbar. And select edges of previous
extrude with radius of 10 on both side of handle bar.

STEP 15:

Create a datum plane offset from the right plane as 200.

STEP 16:

Select part feature from Model Tree and select Mirror command from toolbar.
It will prompt you to select the plane. Select datum plane about which it will
mirror the half created spanner.

STEP 17:

Go to extrude tool button on the base feature toolbar. To crate the sketch for
the extrude feature, you first need to select the sketching plane for the model.

STEP 18:

The FRONT datum plane will be selected as the sketching plane. Click on
OK to enter into the sketching mode.

STEP 19:

Select crate text as part of a section button from the toolbar. Enter starting
point, height of the text and write P.D.M.C.E on the handle bar of the spanner.
Click OK to exit sketcher mode.

STEP 20:

Choose now change the direction of the protrusion by using flip. Choose the
OK button to finish protrusion.

EXPERIMENT NO -7
OBJECTIVE: To draw a connecting rod through 3D wire frame model.
PROCEDURE:
STEP 1:

Go to start menu and choose all programs then move PTC and click on
proewildfire to run the program:

STEP 2:

Choose file>new then select part feature. Go to extrude tool button on the
base feature toolbar.

STEP 3:

To Create the sketch for the extrude feature, you first need to select the
sketching plane for the model.

STEP 4:

The FRONT datum plane will be selected as the sketching plane.


On OK to enter into the sketching mode.

STEP 5:

Choose the create rectangle button from the right tool chest. Draw a rectangle
portion of the rod. Now choose create circle & draw circle with offset
distance 200 from the rectangle edge & join both the two straight lines &
dimensions it. Enter the height of extrude feature as 20 & click on ok to
complete extrude.

STEP 6:

Go to round tool button from the base feature toolbar & select the edges to
turn it into smoother look.

STEP 7:

Go to the extrude tool button on the base feature toolbar.

STEP 8:

To create the sketch for the extrude feature, you first need to select the
sketching plane for the model.

STEP 9:

The front datum plane is selected as the sketching plane. Click ok on the
sketching mode.

STEP 10:

Choose the create circle button from the right tool chest. Draw two circular
entities one of the square & another at the lower portion of the rod. Enter the
height of the extrude feature as 20. Select the symmetric instead of blind &
click on ok complete the extrude.

STEP 11:

Go to the extrude tool button on the base feature toolbar.

STEP 12:

To create the sketch for the extrude feature, you first need to select the
sketching plane for the model.

STEP 13:

The front datum plane is selected as the sketching plane. Click ok on the
sketching mode.

STEP 14:

Create sketch over inside of handle bar with a margin of 15. Enter the depth
of extrude in 10. Choose now change the direction of the protrusion by using
flip and select remove material. Choose the OK button to finish protrusion.

STEP 15:

Repeat step 11, 12, 13 & 14on another side of the rod for creating impression
of the extrude feature.

STEP 16:

Choose round button from the modify toolbar. And select edges of previous
extrude with radius of 10 on both side of handle bar.

STEP 17:

Create a datum plane offset from the right plane as 200.

STEP 18:

Choose create hole button from the right toolbar. Hole dashboard appears as
the bottom of the window. Place the hole over the lower circular protrusion
using placement tab & click ok to complete hole feature.

STEP 19:

Choose create hole button again from the right toolbar. Hole dashboard
appears as the bottom of the window. Place the hole over the lower circular
protrusion using placement tab & click ok to complete hole feature.

STEP 20:

Go to the extrude tool button on the base feature toolbar.

STEP 21:

To create the sketch for the extrude feature, you first need to select the
sketching plane for the model.

STEP 22:

The front datum plane is selected as the sketching plane. Click ok on the
sketching mode.

STEP 23:

Choose create rectangle tool from modify toolbar. Enter the height of extrude
is 20. Choose side 2 from placement tab as to selected and select the curve
surface of the lower circle. Click the ok button to complete protrusion.

STEP 24:

Create two holes using create hole button from the toolbar. Place the hole
using placement tab on the side of rectangular extruded feature & dimension
it. Enter the diameter & blind depth of the hole feature as 10 & 20. Click ok
to complete hole feature.

STEP 25:

Go to chamfer tool button again from the modify toolbar.

STEP 26:

Select the edges along the holes & enter the value of D X D as10. Click ok to
finish chamfer command.
