MARKET STUDY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Paintball is a game where players of two teams compete in an
enclosed field by shooting their opponents with a paintball
gun. Its the one sport that comes closest to an actual gun
battle without anybody getting killed or seriously hurt. There
are variations to the game, including the number of players, but
the object of the game is usually for one team to kill all the
players in the other team. You cannot win in paintball just by
hiding under cover, pointing your gun from time to time and
shooting. One must need to be aggressive and must learn to run,
duck,

roll,

crawl,

and

scream

if

needed.

Anticipating

the

movement of your opponents and coordinating with your teammates


at the same time is an important key to winning the game.
Paintball is now among the most popular outdoor games that
can be played by people of all ages. Paintball is played as a
recreational activity among family and friends and as a bonding
activity among business colleagues. Paintball is so exciting that
it draws more and more adherents every day making it the fastest
growing sport in the world. Paintball has become so popular that
it has grown so explosively, its now the third most popular
extreme sport with 11 million players around the globe making it
a potentially profitable business entrepreneurs can engage in.
The business will carry a variety of paintball guns, and a
number

of

accessories

commonly

used

within

amateur

and

professional paintball games. The revenue source for the business

will come from the ongoing usage of the business paintball field
coupled with the rental of paintball equipment. A game field is
scattered with barrels, which players use for tactical cover.
Game types in paintball vary, but can include capture the flag,
elimination, defending or attacking a particular point or area,
or capturing objects of interest hidden in the playing area.
Depending on the variant played, games can last from seconds to

Based on the results shown above, it is clear that the


demand for paintball here in Ozamiz is high and that many people
are interested to play the sport. Despite of the amount they have
to sacrifice to play paintball, many people are still eager to
save and spend money to experience the fun and excitement that
this sport is willing to offer.

The gathered data suggests that the demand for paintball

business supplying such services within the vicinity of the city


and nearby areas. It would be impractical in terms of time and
money for those people demanding to experience the paintball game
to travel to the nearest known locality which offers the services
in

Davao,

Thus,

the

researchers strongly believe that establishing the business is


highly feasible.

PRICE STUDY
The price of the paintball game will be set at least P60.00

per 10 rounds. This price estimation is based on the price set in

paintballs and free use of equipment and gears such as mask,


marker, and vest. Their additional paintballs are set at P5.00
each,

Thus, the special packages of our business will not be less than
P2000.00 with the same privileges. Davao Paintball was chosen as
the price reference since it is the nearest verified business
offering paintball sports.

E. FACTORS AFFECTING PAINTBALL BUSINESS


Participation

time will create uncertainty over its customers.
The decline or increase in the number of adolescents aged 13
to 25 will likely affect business growth over the next years.

F. MARKETING

local radio and television advertisement. Tarpaulins and online


pages will also be made for promotion. Aside from the general
public, the business will also promote paintball as a teambuilding program to schools, companies, and others. The target
market for paintball is young and even middle-aged, predominantly
male adults. There are many females who also participate in
paintball games but, usually, they are drawn as either part of a
corporate work outing or from some similar situation. Paintball
