Bibliography
Bugliosi, Vincent and Curt Gentry. Helter skelter: the true story of the Manson
murders. NewYork: Norton, 1974. Print.
- As my research is revolving around Vincent Bugliosi and his work this book
Helter Skelter is one of his earliest and most popular works. Revolving around
the manson murders I will analyse his stye of approach to the murders and
his analysis of the case as an attorney.
Bugliosi, Vincent. Outrage: the five reasons why O.J. Simpson got away with murder.
newYork: W.W. Norton & Co., 1996. Print.
- Outrage is the second book I have chosen to include in my research of
Bugliosi's work. He has arguably taken up the most infamous case and given
a very interesting viewpoint as to why O.J. Simpson got away with murder. I
will, again, be analyzing his structure of argument and how being an attorney
has an influence on his books

Bugliosi, Vincent. Reclaiming history: the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Newyork: W.W. Norton & Co., 2007. Print.
- The third and last book I have chosen to Use for my research is Reclaiming
history. This book is quite a recent one. I have chosen to this book as I will
analyze how his writing has changed over the years and how his analysis
varies from his earlier books.
Burrough, Bryan. "... Or Not?: A prosecutor claims to have closed the (colossal) book
on that day in November." The NewYork Times 20 May 2007: G15. Print.
- This is an article which questions the time gap - why Bugliosi wasted twenty
one years to release the book and offers some ery inreresting criticism which
ultimately ends in praise. I will use this artcle as a reference and attestation
to Bugliosi's excellence in writing.
Gewen, Barry. "The Second Time Around: The lawyer for the Goldman family
explains how O.J. Simpson got Fuhrmanized. TRIUMPH OF JUSTICE The Final

Venkataramani 2
Judgment on the Simpson Saga. By Daniel Petrocelli with Peter Knobler. 644
pp. New York: Crown Publishers. $25.95." The NewYork Times 14 June 1998:
R12. Print.
- This article will provide me with some "outsider's" perspective on Bugliosi's
work. This article reports hoe the prosecution read the book and his take on
the book. Being an attorney he has a very interesting aproach to Buglios's
books which I will analyze with respect to the book and Bugliosi's views.
Lehmann-haupt, Christopher. "Prosecuting the Manson Case: Books of The Times
Pieced Motive Together The State's Case." The NewYork Times 8 November
1974: 37. Print.
- The author of the article takes a very interesting standpoint on the Manson
case. He references Bugliosi's work and analyses it and compares it to
contemporary works and how their point of view and approach to the case
varies. This article will serve as a reference to the style of analysis of Bugliosi.
Rule, Ann. "There Will Be Blood: How did a juvenile delinquent named Charles
Manson become the notorious killer whose crimes still horrify us today?" The
NewYork Times 18 August 2013: A14. Print.
- I have chosen articles which review his work in Helter Skelter as it is his
most popular book and this is the book that kick starts his career as a
criminology writer. the author of the article offers some skewed criticism and
interestingly does seem to work well. This article will give me a good
opposition view on his book and the case in general.
Stern, Sheldon M. "Review: A Prosecutor Takes on the JFK Assassination." American
History (2008): 143-151. Document.
- This article offers a very matter of fact point of view to Bugliosi's work. this
is very helpful in analyzing one of his later works. This article has a lot of
importance to get a revew and a proper analysis of his work.

In my research paper, I have chosen to deconstruct an author. For this, I have

chosen Vincent Bugliosi. The research question I have is: How does Vincent
Bugliosi write? With this I will use the afore mentioned sources and analyze
Bugliosis style, structure, coherence and how him being an attorney has
influenced his writing.
