Benefits of Volunteering

Skill Based
Volunteering allowed me to practice my
marketing skills for a good cause and
opened my eyes to how nice people are
in the city.
Maya, Volunteer with Volunteer Toronto

#VolunteersofTO

Skill Based
I used to think that being a volunteer was
solely about giving. Its not. Volunteering is
enriching. It helps you learn. It helps you
grow. It helps you appreciate. It helps you
become a better humanbeing.

Language Based
When I came to Canada I was a very
timid person. There have been many
challenges for me to overcome along
the way all by myself, including language
barriers, job searching, and the
immigration process. I had to overcome
my fears and realize I couldnt make all
the necessary changes in my own life to
improve my skills - I had to take things
step by step, one day at a time. After
that, I learned that with determination
and persistence, the chances are higher
that I will achieve my goals..
Horace, Volunteer with Special Events and
Community Associations

Give Back
If you feel depressed, go help
someone and it will go away. If you
feel happy, go help someone and it
will multiply. If you feel failure, go
help someone and you will
discover many treasures. If you feel
successful, go help someone and
you will find significance. If you
feel you dont have anything to
offer, go help someone and you
will find in that one Thank you
how something so small can
change one persons life.
