Target PA Standards:

Learning Objective(s):

Raise awareness of how often cyber bullying occurs
SMART goal:
Bring awareness to bullying and its effects as wells as ultimately decrease discipline
referrals by 15%.

Materials:
Projector, paper, pencil, pre-post survey

Procedure (should be specific and have a timeline):

Warm up (5 mins): The students will be given a pre-survey. This survey will contain

scenarios. The students will have to mark the ones they think are cyber bullying and
which are not. Once all the students are done, the pre-surveys will be collected.
Lesson/ group presentation (5 mins): During this time the counselor will use the
projector to go over a presentation that defines cyber bullying, the different ways it
takes place, the different locations it takes place, and how to identify if someone is
being cyber bullied or is a cyber bully. There will also be videos where, as a class,
we will identify if it cyber bullying or not.
Guided Practice (5 mins): During this time the counselor will call on different
students to give examples of different cyber bullying situations. The class will
discuss if the situation is truly a cyber bully situation or not.
Small Group Practice (5 mins): During this time, each group will put together a 2 to
4-minute skit that acts out a cyber bullying situation.
Small Group Presentations: (15 mins): Presentations of the group skits. After each
skit, the class will discuss if it is truly a cyber bully situation and why or why not.
Close out (5 mins): The students will then be given a post-survey. It, like the presurvey, will list scenarios. The students will again have to identify which ones are
cyber bullying situations and which ones are not.
