It started with this internship I joined for getting to know a little about theatre and now it turns out

to be this important part of my life which has unfathomable impact on me as a person.

There have been highs and lows but along the way I have learnt not to give up on my urge to do
more.
It is unbelievable how in a span of 7 months I have handled costumes for 3 new productions of a
5 years old group spreading itself in all forms of media. That's the faith Mad About Drama has in
young people and the opportunity they give you at every footstep.

Art directors and Set designers are magicians in their own right! From Scottish Castles to South
Calcutta drawing rooms, they can conjure anything on stage and that too with a shoestring
budget.
If you can conceptualize visual ideas, if you can paint well, if craft classes were your favourite in
school, then this is definitely the right job for you. All though previous experience is preferred, we

We at Mad About Drama will be turning 5 this December ! With time as we have grown, so has
the need and want to have new talented mad people join us in our dream. For quite some time
we have been receiving queries regarding when do we have our next set of recruitments. Finally,
M.A.D is recruiting !

Morning : 10 am-1 pm
Afternoon: 2 pm -5 pm

CATEGORIES:

1) Female Actors
Eligibility: Must be fluent in both English and/or Bengali.
Previous experience is preferred.
2) Male Actors
Eligibility: Must be fluent in either English or Bengali.
Previous experience is preferred.
3) Art Directors for Theatre
Eligibility: Must be able to design and execute innovative sets and alternate spaces
for theatre.
Previous experience is a MUST.
4) Writers
Eligibility: Must be able to write full length plays in Bengali and/or English.
Previous work is a MUST.
5) Website Developer & Designer
Eligibility: Previous work is a MUST.
6) Graphic designer
Eligibility: Previous work is a MUST.
7) Project Coordinators
Eligibility: Previous experience in managing and executing events and/or campaigns,
big or small.
8) Video Documentation, Editing and Stage Photography
Eligibility: Previous work is a MUST.
9) All-Rounders
The work profile of an all-rounder is to do anything and everything and be a part of
the daily functioning of the organisation. Be it backstage, front of house, creative
assistance, research, audience development, production, archiving, fundraising,
running around or others.
NOTE:
1) For all categories except (9), carry samples of your previous work (hard or soft
copy) which will help us have a better understanding about your skill set.
2) Remuneration is project based and depends on the concerned person's level of
involvement in the project.
3) Work hours are on an average 3-5 days a week but depends from project to
project.
4) If selected as a member, your work will not be limited to the category you have
applied for.
5) Freelancers who do not wish to be a member of Mad About Drama are also
welcome to register.

balance both quirky and classy and if you have mad creative concepts up your sleeve, we are

content! And we are looking for young playwrights/writers who can jump right in with their crazy
ideas and we are really looking forward to producing new, promising original plays!
With our flagship weekly radio show and plenty of projects lined up, we are looking for people
who have experience in playwriting/screenwriting! At the moment we are mainly looking at
Bengali playwrights, but if you can write in English too that would be an added
advantage! Also, as long as your craziness is in sync with ours, you will get paid for

Video documentation, editing and stage photography:

What most people do not realize is that stage photography requires a specific skill set of it's own,
it's not just about aesthetically pleasing frames, it's all about finding the right "moments" that
define a performance! We have always laid stress on state of the art documentation of our plays
be it in terms of shooting or editing, and therefore we are looking for individuals with previous
stage photography and documentation experience who can capture the inner madness in
every thing we do!

Project coordinator:
We at Mad About Drama do a lot of things, from curating events to taking care of elaborate
publicity campaigns! So a cool headed manager who can get things done at the end of day is an
asset. Bring your teamwork and leadership skills to the table as you plan and manage extensive

work related to productions, festivals, events and almost everything under the sun! You might
have managed anything or everything from school fests to college band competitions before,
but this is crazier than you think, and from what we can gauge, you will love it!

The only way you can stand out in today's evolving cyberspace is if your content and design is
crazy and original in it's own way! A perfect design leaves a lasting impression about a brand,
and when it comes to web designing for a theatre company, it's imperative that the design is also
a "performance"
