TRAFFICKING IN ANABOLIC STEROIDS Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware announce that a Portsmouth man has been arrested on multiple counts of drug trafficking related to the distribution of anabolic steroids. After a case had been presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury by the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force and the Scioto County Prosecutors Office in November of 2016, 33 year old Heath Anthony Steele of 2513 Argonne Road Portsmouth, Ohio was indicted on multiple counts of drug trafficking and drug possession as well as a count of the illegal manufacture of drugs and the funding of drug trafficking. The offenses are considered felonies of either the 2nd or 3rd degrees. An arrest warrant on indictment was issued for Steeles arrest by the Scioto County Common Pleas Court. The investigation by the task force, along with narcotics detectives with the Columbus Police Department and agents with the FBI, lead to the indictment and resulted in the seizure of numerous anabolic steroids and over $19,000 cash during the execution of a federal search warrant at Steeles residence by task force officers assisted by officers with the Portsmouth Police Department in October of 2015. On December 14th, 2016 at approximately 10:00p.m., Steele was arrested without incident by officers with the New Boston Police Department and placed in the Scioto County Jail.
