1. 0.2 M Potassium Iodide (KI)
2. 0.05 M Sodium Thiosulphate (Na2S2O3 )
3. 0.1 M Potassium Peroxydisulphate (K2S208)
4. Iodine indicator

4.1 Equipments & Apparatus


1. Water bath
2. Pipette
3. Test tube (10 test tube)
4. Thermometer
5. Wooden tong
6. Beaker
7. Glass rod

4.2 Procedure

Part A
1. Five test tube were obtained and labeled as A-30C, A-40C, A-50C, A-60C A-70C.
2. 5 ml of 0.005 M Sodium thiosulphate (Na 2S2O3) and 10 ml of 0.2 M Potassium Iodide
(KI) were pipetted into each of the test tube.

Part B
1. Another five test tube were obtained and labeled as B-30C, B-40C, B-50C, B-60C B70C.
2. 10 ml of 0.1 M Potassium Peroxydisulphate (K 2S208) and 5 drops Iodine indicator were
pipetted into each of the test tube.
3. All the test tube (from Part A and B) was heated up in the respective water bath.
Thermometer was used to monitor the temperature.
4. The contents of test tube Part A was poured into test tube Part B once the temperature
reached the point. Timer was immediately started after mixing and mixture was stirred by
using glass rod until the colorless solution turn to dark yellow. Time were recorded in
proper table.
