The Victimisation of Lisa Blakemore-Brown

The British Psychological Society
John Stone writes: "Today, after more than a decade of systematic
harassment, the British Psychological Society (BPS) dropped its final
vexatious case against Lisa Blakemore-Brown, which left her free to
finally resign from the society without a slur on her competence or
character. I am sure everyone would like to take the opportunity to
congratulate Lisa."
Dr Aubrey Blumsohn writes: "There are questions about the integrity,
motives and honesty of BPS procedures. There are questions about the
factors motivating the entirely spurious complaints, and who arranged
for their invention. There are serious concerns about the way in which
the BPS attempted to abuse one of its members through the misuse of
psychology itself, and the way in which the medical profession
assisted. The BPS remains completely silent on the widespread fraud
which is increasingly apparent within the pharmaceutical psychiatric
literature. The regulatory body governing medicine in the UK (the
General Medical Council) has also remained silent, and has refused to
entertain a complaint of professional misconduct from patients and
families involving the medical leadership of GlaxoSmithKline. The
silence is deafening."
One Click Group Director Jane Bryant writes: "Lisa
Blakemore-Brown has paid a terrible, terrible price for standing up for
families. The shameful actions of this entirely discredited BPS body
have served to leave her destitute and in severe ill-health. These BPS
hearings are held in secret and designed to discredit individuals and
stop debate. To see such a disgraceful witch hunt in action has brought
the British Psychological Society into terminal public disrepute."
See the BPS correspondence below, together with complaint contact
details.
Bryant continues: "I would ask you please to join me and my family
today around the world in congratulating Lisa and wishing her all the
very best that there is. Long may her work for the families continue."

RESIGNATION FROM THE BRITISH PSYCHOLOGICAL

SOCIETY
I, Lisa Blakemore-Brown, Psychologist and specialist in Autism and
related tapestry disorders, am formally and publicly resigning from
the British Psychological Society on this day the 11th March 2008 as I
have lost all faith and confidence in it as a Regulatory Body which is
capable of protecting the public or performing its duties to support
professional psychologists who are doing their duty to undertake an
independent service for the public in the field of Autism and related
disorders.
I will continue to work as a Psychologist, and when a proven
responsible body is in place to regulate Psychologists I will be happy to
join them.
Psychologists should be regulated but by a Society which is itself
regulated and is accountable when proven wrong.
