(SPECIALISED IN POWER FACTOR SYSTEM)

Capitalizing on 6 years of extensive industry experience, we are regarded as a reputed manufacturer and supplier
of qualitative range of Power Factor Products and Controller Systems. In addition, we also provide Annual
Maintenance Contract services for our customers. We have come across many high tension services and
achieved UNITY POWER FACTOR. Our product range comprises of APFC for Electricity- HT Consumers, APFC for
Electricity- LT Consumers, Automatic Power Factor Controller (APFC) for Generators, Maximum Demand
Controller and Auto Mains Failure.

Understanding of PF
Power factor is the ratio between active power and apparent power. For better power transmission it is always
preferable to maintain the pf close to unity. Basically there are three types of load resistive load inductive load and
capacitive load. Incase of Resistive load, Pf is unity(I is in phase with V),in case of inductive load Pf is less than
unity(I lags V) and in case of capacitive load the PF is greater than unity (I leadsV).
The PF has to be improved only for lagging loads such as induction motor, induction furnace, fan, flourscent light
etc. In order to improve PF, capacitors are added in the network.

Benefits of PF correction
Reduces KVA demand
Avoids heavy penalty from EB
Improve voltage condition
Gain in system capacity
Reduce line losses

Maximum Demand Controller

We are engaged in offering an extensive range of Maximum Demand Controllers. These provide demand monitoring as per the
time of occurrence and serve an important function in commercial establishments. Our MDCs work with programmable logic
controllers and real time clocks. These systems have different settings, which divide the 24 hour duration into a peak period, non
peak period, day and night settings. Furthermore, these settings are programmable in PLC as per the client's needs. These systems
are facilitated with 12 outputs for the tripping of non critical loads. Moreover, these also have a power multimeter, which can
display all factors, including KW, KVA, PF, KVAR and maximum demand.
The power multimeter displays the present demand and the PLC can be used for programming the predictable
demand. Moreover, this power multimeter also reads the maximum demand for every time slot and sends
important information to PLC through RS 485 communication. The non-essential loads can be tripped by
the PLC controls with time reference. This tripping is carried out in compliance with the demand (KVA)
stipulated by the state electricity board to the customer.

Auto Mains Failure

Clients can avail from us a trusted range of Auto
Mains Failure Panels (AMF Panels). These are used
for automatic changing over from the mains
electricity supply to genset in case of the
electricity fails. This system automatically changes
the supply back to the mains and stops the genset
whenever the mains supply is restored. Moreover,
the stand-by generator also shuts down after a
short period of cooling down. Our panels offer
consistent power supply to the load without any
time delay. Furthermore, these have a smooth
start and stop operation as well as automatic and
manual control.

Our AMF Panels are based on programmable

Power Factor correction for Loads supplied by the Generator

Generator is a device which is used to convert mechanical energy to electrical energy.
It consists of diesel engine which produces mechanical energy and alternator which
converts mechanical energy to electrical energy. It is widely believed that the average
power factor at which a DG Set should operate is 0.8. The facts stated below are
specifically to correct this technically erroneous matter.
Alternators are rated in Volt-Amperes (kVA). This is logical in the sense that it specifies
the maximum current the alternator can deliver at the system voltage. To specify the
appropriate power rating of a diesel engine for a particular Alternator we have to first
convert kVA to kW and thereafter kW to BHP. This can only be done if we assume a
certain average Power Factor (PF) under which the DG set would operate.
The power factor so assumed should be in line with the average power factor
prevalent in the industry. A typical industrial load comprises of induction motors
(typical PF of 0.6 to 0.75), non-linear loads (typical PF of 0.5 to 0.6) and combination of
unity PF loads (Resistive heating and incandescent lighting). Hence assuming an
average power factor of 0.6 for typical industrial loads is considered acceptable by
convention. Consequently a power factor of 0.8 is used for calculating the kW, which
is then converted to the BHP rating of the prime mover. Knowing the BHP it is now
possible to calculate the power rating of the engine. It is, however, important to
ensure that under actual operating conditions the kW loading and current loading
should not be exceeded.
Power Factor of loads supplied by DG sets can therefore be improved closer to 0.95 by
use of Automatic Power factor Correction System based on Programmable Logic
Controller keeping in view of leading KVAR.
