To Whom

lt May Concern:

It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Danielle Nagy. Ms. Nagy is a candidate in our
Master's Degree program in Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services at California Lutheran University.
She is specializing in school counseling and will be recommended for the Pupil Personal Services

Credential upon completion of her program in May 2017. As the Chair of this department, I have had the
opportunity to observe Ms. Nagy in academic classes as well as during her internships where I served as
her university supervisor.
Ms. Nagy is an intelligent, hard-working student who has maintained an impressive 4.0 G.P.A.

throughout her program here at CLU. She has been an active participant in the classroom, often taking
leadership role in class activities and group/team projects. She possesses a solid knowledge of
counseling theory, vocational development theory, and theories of child and adolescent development.
Ms. Nagy is also able to apply these theories into the practice of school counseling and had the
opportunity to do so during her Practicum and Field Studies experiences.

Danielle Nagy has participated in multiple K-l2 school and college counseling internship experiences,

which is more than what is required by the CTC and our program. She has completed field experiences
at elementary, middle and high school levels. She has strong counseling skills and is able to use those
skills working individually and in groups, and has successfully implemented a variety of workshops and
classroom guidance activities. She regularly consulted with parents, teachers, and school administrators

to support student success. ln addition, Ms. Nagy has interned at Pierce College, advising students in the
EOPS program and has worked as a counseling assistant in Career Services here at Cal Lutheran.
Throughout these experiences, Ms. Nagy received top rated performance evaluations from her
supervisors. I had the good fortune to observe her during her elementary school internship and found
her to be competent, confident, and able to easily establish rapport with her students. She is a "quick
study," and a culturally competent counselor who strives to provide access and inclusion for all
students. Lastly, she is active in her professional development, is a member of ASCA and regularly
participates in professional workshops and conferences.
ln sum, Danielle Nagy has been an outstanding school counseling candidate and intern. I strongly

recommend her for a position at any level, without reservation, and am confident that she will be
valuable member of any student support team.
