PREFACE

Praise the presence of God Almighty. who has given grace, so that the paper of
midterm of english tuition Telling Story about A Movie ICE AGE 3 dawn of
the dinosaurs have me finish.
I would like to thank Mr. Agung as one of the lecturers who have provided
guidance and knowledge with passion and patience. Hopefully this paper can be
useful to readers. Amen.

CHAPTER I
PRELIMINARY
A. Background
What would you do if you tired with all the activities you every day,
Sleep.. Yes its true, but it is definitely sleep to treat physical. what about the
mental? What you must do to renew it, so that you become spirit again, how abput
Sport..Yes its can but not everyone likes. so what everyone likes to remove all
sense of stress at the weekend, the answer is Watch Movie.
Each person would like the movie because the movie can make us free
imagination, something that is impossible becomes possible. other than that by
watching the movie about getting an entertainment and a sense of satisfaction, it
turns out not only that we also could charge content good example of his story
about friendship or is about to invite to goodness,etc.
One of which is a favorite is A Cartoon movie, not just kids even adults
like it. be a cartoon movie to reach all ages. and one of the best cartoon movie
ever made is Ice Age 3 dawn of the dinosaurs

By watching this movie we can get an insight of how a family can
maintain their unity dawn through by an animal. Moreover they are wild animals,
but here with the kind of animals they can live in peace So why humans cannot?

CHAPTER II
DISCUSSION

A. Cast and Character

Manny
Manfred the Mammoth is a woolly mammoth, shown as one of the main
protagonists in all three Ice Age films. While his true name is Manfred, his friends
refer to him simply as "Manny." He can be serious, but is otherwise caring and
friendly. In Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, he has a daughter named Peaches.
Ellie
Ellie is a female woolly mammoth, Manny wife. In Ice Age: Dawn of the
Dinosaurs, she and Manny are mates and Ellie is pregnant with their first child.
When they find the Dinosaur World under their feet, they have to go in and search
for Sid in Lava Falls. When very close to Lava Falls, Ellie goes into labour, and
gives birth to Peaches (which was the codeword for if Ellie went into labor on the
trip). When they return to the surface, Ellie introduces Peaches to her new home.
Diego
Diego the Smilodon is a saber-toothed tiger, one of the main protagonists in all
three of the films. He has a somewhat sarcastic personality, although it's usually
not intended as malicious. In the third film, he began to fear that he was losing his
predatory abilities from being in the "herd" too long, and considered staying in the
underground dinosaur world. He changed his mind after managing to save the
labored Ellie from a dinosaur attack
Sid
Sid the Sloth is a sloth shown in all three films as one of the main protagonists. He
is portrayed as clumsy, fast-talking, and unpopular; and is voiced with a lateral

lisp. In the third film, he adopts a trio of Dinosaurs, and is forcibly taken to the
underground dinosaur land by their mother, requiring the others to come and save
him
Scrat
Scrat is a saber-toothed squirrel and is a minor character in all three films. He is
commonly shown in scenes involving Manfred, Sid and Diego, but rarely interacts
with them directly. Scrat is usually seen trying to bury his beloved acorn.
Crash & Eddie
Crash and Eddie were two twin brother opossums and protagonists. Adopted
brothers of Ellie the mammoth, they cared for her In the third film, Crash and
Eddie travel with the others to the dinosaur jungle to save Sid from Momma, and
both grow to idolize Buck, the one-eyed dinosaur-hunting weasel
Scratte
Scratte is a female sabre-toothed squirrel that makes her debut in Ice Age: Dawn
of the Dinosaurs. She is seen in the second trailer with Scrat battling with her for
the acorn by propelling themselves down a gorge to reach the fallen acorn, and
succeeding. Scratte is also seen as a love interest for Scrat. Throughout numerous
conflicts, the two fall in love, but Scrat ultimately returns to his old ways. At the
end of the film, Scratte is left in the dinosaurs' jungle while Scrat is back on the
surface
Buck
Buck is a weasel that makes an appearance in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and
was one of the new protagonists in the third film. He is missing his right eye and
wears a leaf as an impromptu eyepatch, and seems slightly insane (he claims that
he woke up one day, married to an ugly pineapple, but he still loved it, and Manny
calls him a "deranged hermit").

Momma
Momma was a female T. Rex who took Sid the ground sloth away from his herd
when he took her eggs from her. She brings Sid to Lava Falls, and the two
compete to see who can care for her babies better. Sid loses, but is allowed to stay.
However, they are separated later and Sid is attacked by Rudy.
Momma later returns when Manny, Ellie, Diego, Sid, Crash, Eddie, and Buck are
under attack by Rudy, and knocks Rudy off of a cliff to his apparent death,
proceeding to bid Sid farewell
Rudy
Rudy was a gigantic albino Baryonyx who is feared by all the creatures in the
valley except Buck and Momma Tyrannosaur. He served as the main antagonist of
the third film even though he is only heard and seen in silhouette until the very
end.
Peaches
Peaches is the newborn daughter of Manny and Ellie, born in the Dinosaur's world
whilst they were under attack by a pack of Guanlong. She appeared close to end
of the movie and was named after the code-word that was thought up to say that
Ellie was going into labour. Manny also claims that peaches are sweet, round and
fuzzy, just like Peaches and Ellie. She looks exactly like her mother, Ellie (which
Sid thinks is very lucky). At the end of the film, she returned to the surface with
her parents and the rest of the group
Egbert, Yoko and Shelly
The baby dinos are three baby t-rex from Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. They
are voiced by Carlos Saldanha. There are two boys (Egbert and Yoko), and one
girl (Shelly). Sid took them away from their mother, but she came searching for
them and took Sid away with them, then she later became friends with Sid at the
end of the movie

B. Plot Of the Story

Ellie and Manny are expecting their first child, and Manny is obsessed
with making life perfect and safe for the family, since his first experiences as a
husband and father went bad when his family was killed by hunters. At the same
time, Diego finds himself unable to catch a cocky gazelle he has been stalking
and decides to leave the herd, believing that he is losing his predatory nature as a
tiger. Sid grows jealous of Manny and Ellie and "adopts" three apparently
abandoned eggs that he finds in an icy underground cavern and call them Eggbert,
Shelly, and Yoko. Manny tells him to put them back (saying Sid would never
make a good parent, saying, "First sign: Stealing someone else's eggs. Second
sign: One of them almost became a omelette"), but Sid instead looks after the
eggs, which hatch into baby Tyrannosaurus the next morning.
Although Sid tries his best to raise the three dinosaurs, their rambunctious
behavior scares away all the other animals' young and ruins a playground Manny
built for Ellie's baby. A female Tyrannosaurus, Momma, whose eggs Sid stole,
soon returns and carries both Sid and her young underground, with Diego in
pursuit. Manny, Ellie, Crash, and follow as well and discover that the icy cavern
leads to a vast jungle populated by dinosaurs thought to be extinct. Here, an
Ankylosaurus threatens the herd despite Diego's efforts to fend it off; they are
saved from a further crowd of angry reptiles by an insane, one-eyed weasel named
Buckminster, or Buck.
Buck has been living in this jungle for some time and is chasing Rudy, a
large albino Baryonyx, with the intention of avenging the loss of his right eye at
Rudy's hands. He agrees to lead the herd through the jungle's perils to Lava Falls,
where Momma has taken Sid and her babies. At one point, they have to cross the
"Chasm of Death" which is filled with gas fumes (a mixture of helium and
laughing gas, causing anyone who breathes in it to laugh uncontrollably while
speaking in a high-pitched voice). Although the gas is not the actual cause of
death, victims usually cannot stop laughing and thus die while trying to cross the

chasm. Eventually the group manages to cross the chasm. In the meantime, Sid
and Momma try to outdo each other in feeding the offspring; he loses this contest,
but is soon welcomed into the family regardless. The next day, however, Sid is
separated from the family and attacked by Rudy. Sid is knocked onto a loose rock
slab that is floating on a river of lava and about to plummet over the falls.
As the herd moves toward Lava Falls, Ellie goes into labor and a
Guanlong pack strikes, causing a rock slide that separates her from Manny and
Diego. Manny doubles back to protect her and Diego fends off further attacks,
while Buck takes Crash and Eddie ahead to rescue Sid. Just as he goes over the
falls, the trio swoops in on a commandeered Pteranodon only to be chased by a
flock of Quetzalcoatlus on the way and saves his life. Manny reaches Ellie, and
there is suddenly a reaction, the cry of a newborn baby, then he sees that it is a
girl. He wants to name her Ellie, or Little Ellie, but Ellie instead names her
Peaches after the fruit (and the codeword they had chosen for Ellie to use if she
went into labor during the trip). Sid is saddened at the fact that he never had a
chance to say goodbye to "his" children as he returns to the herd and learns of
Peaches' birth.
As they venture back to the tunnel, they are shocked to discover Rudy
lurking inside of the entrance. Rudy exits the tunnel and attacks at full force; Buck
lures Rudy away from the group and is nearly eaten himself, before Diego saves
him at the last second. Manny, Sid, Diego, and Buck manage to ensnare Rudy and
knock him unconscious, but as they begin to leave, Sid trips over one of the ropes
and breaks it. Rudy quickly recovers and escapes, and is about to attack Sid when
Momma arrives on the scene, charging at Rudy and knocking him off a cliff
before roaring her victory. As she and her children wish Sid well, Buck now
without a purpose in life since Rudy is gone decides to join the herd and live on
the surface. However, a distant roar tells him that Rudy is still alive; he changes
his mind and sends the herd home, blocking off the path to the underground jungle
at the same time, so nobody else can go down there anymore. Manny and Ellie
welcome Peaches into their frozen world and admit that Sid did a good job

looking after Momma's children (though Manny tells Diego that he will never let
Sid babysit Peaches). Diego decides to remain with the herd, while Buck stays
where he wants to be: underground, battling it out with Rudy.

CHAPTER III
CLOSURE

A. Conclusion
From Manny and friends, we can take the lesson that in order to maintain the
family unit takes a struggle. While our brothers/sister there who need help so as
person closes we must help them because who else if not the family ourself. Even
though there may be between family members separated by distance, to learn live
independently. However, only our own home and family the safest place and The
most convenient on the world
B. Suggestion
Communication is the key to solve all problems as well as to share the pleasure,
So Please be an open person
