If one has been an avid reader of literature, a devoted cinephile or a fashion zealot, then he/she

must be quite familiar with the phrase, 'Tall dark handsome young man' - the most eloquently
used idiom when it comes to describing an impeccable gentleman. And we are very well familiar
with the fact that a 'gentleman' is not born but is rather conjured out of mannerisms learned
through various stages of life thereby painting a stunning portrait of a model man. Apart from the
'walk' and the 'talk', the most leading element in the imagery of a gentleman is the 'way he
dresses' - what does a man wear, how does he don his clothing and how his sense of clothing
compliments the occasion - with the fulfillment of these very aspects, a fashion statement is
created. But like everything else, even a fashion statement requires a finishing touch to cast a
flawless shine and dominate - and in the case of a gentleman's clothing, this finishing touch is
granted by the last adornment that a man puts on when he dresses - chaussures, that is shoes.
Nearly forty thousand years have passed since they were conceived by our good old ancestors
but not once have 'shoes' failed to add charisma to the personality of a man. Often it seems that
different types of 'shoes' are endowed with a soul, which in turn bestows them with a
'character'- some shoes are as serious as grandpa himself, some are jolly young pieces of craftsome scream play whereas some are crowned with a sense of authority - their types though not
infinite but are innumerable- hence, I have taken to the task of bringing forth to our readers, 'The
Ten Types Of Shoes Every Man Should Have'.
1. Leather Dress Shoes
Let us start with something grave yet smart. Leather Dress Shoes belong to the family of shoes
that, going by their look, have every intent to be formal and are therefore concocted for
occasions that are quite solemn in nature. Now your wedding or your daughter's wedding would
not be exactly termed as 'solemn' but you'll have to add Leather Dress Shoes to your profile
since the occasion does have an air of earnestness about it. Other occasions where you can
effortlessly flaunt your best pair of leather shoes can range from 'cooperative meetings' to
'banquets', from 'formal dinners' to 'weddings' and also during mournful events like a funeral.
But before you set out to gift yourself a pair of them, remember, Leather Dress Shoes ace your
appearance when you are suited up in a formal fashion - shirt, tie, trousers, coat et al, and if not
then there are severe chances of a gentleman casting a shoddy appearance and that doesn't
seem right at all, does it?
2. Chukkas
Bearing a name that sounds ethnic and hoisting an appearance of decorum that is never the
less serene, these ankle high boots trace their origin way back to the Second World War during which time the British troops developed a keen liking for them and with the passing of
time, the patrons of Chukkas have grown and the shoes' style has indefinitely matured.
Chukkas are suave, for when Lana Del Ray chirps in 'Blue Jeans, White Shirt'- only Chukkas
seem to do justice to the quoted dress code. The best part about Chukkas is that they are
'versatile' - if you are the very employee who is most likely to stick out of the mechanical

hullabaloo thereby enrobing in denim casuals when it comes to work, then Chukkas are for you
- if you are the very guy to prefers to exhaust his Sunday with a picnic, beneath the clear blue
sky, and amidst the blossoming greens with the ones you love, then Chukkas are for you - if you
are on a date with a babe and you're trying hard to not try hard and make an impression on first
sight itself, then Chukkas are for you - from Casual dinners to a stroll in the neighbourhood park,
from calculated rendezvous to offhand get together, Chukkas shall make you look good, twentyfour hours a day, three hundred and sixty- five days a year.
3. Gym Sneakers
Not that a man cannot carry around a beer belly with an impish pride but being a chunky lad is
always a bit faulty along the healthy horizons. So one should definitely call 'shotgun' when it
comes to this issue, take charge and hit a nearby gym to sweat out all the extra flab. But whilst
you pull up and push up and go one on one with dumbbells and barbells, pacing upon the
treadmill as Eminem's Till I Collapse blares into your ears inducing nothing but a driving zeal to
go on and on - get your feet a companion who like you is sparked up for the same cause, who is
strong, who is clean-cut, who is designed for all the rugged purposes - get yourself a pair of
slick gym sneakers - for they are not merely a flaunt in the pond but are rather defined by the
purpose of aiding you in your endeavor. They will be your best buddy during all the time you
spend working out in the gym.
4. Dress Boots
In order to start describing 'Dress Boots', I will have to unwillingly use the most stereotyped
word of our generation, that is, macho. Dress Boots are so masculine that donning a pair of
these with blue denims and a leather jacket and pumping your Thunderbird to life on any of the
long silent roads that you may find, shall literally make you feel like the young Brando roving
across America in The Wild One. The leather subsidiary of Dress Boots totally renounces the
formal piousness of Leather Dress Shoes and subtly whispers 'Rebel, Rebel'. They are much
more robust, are a treat to put on in the cold of the Winter (its ancestors were worn by John
Snow and his Nightwatch pals) and trust me on this, they may often get more noticed than you
and de facto - sometimes that's not a bad thing at all.
