SEER Light Hookup Installation Instructions

The following instructions were updated to include the 64-bit operating systems
supported by MARS V8 SP4. They supersede the installation instructions in chapter 2
of the SEER Light Ambulatory Recorder/Controller Operators Manual.

Installing SEER Light Hookup

This software is used in conjunction with the SEER Light Connect device. If you do not
have a SEER Light Connect device, this section may be skipped.
Before you connect the SEER Light Connect device to your Holter analysis workstation,
you must install the SEER Light Hookup software using the following steps.
The Holter analysis workstation must be running one of the following operating
systems:
Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit)
Windows 7 SP1 (32-bit)
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (64-bit)
Windows Server 2008 SP2 (32-bit)
Windows Server 2003 (32-bit)
Windows XP SP3 (32-bit)
You must have administrator privileges to install the SEER Light Hookup software.

1.

Insert the SEER Light Hookup software CD in the CD drive of your workstation.
The Choose Setup Language window opens.

Select the appropriate language and click Next.

The Welcome window opens.

Click Next.
The License Agreement window opens.

Review the license agreement and click Yes.

The Destination Disk window opens.

Select the disk to which the SEER Light Hookup software will be installed and
click Next.
The Ready to Install window opens.

6.

Click Install to begin the installation.

The SEER Light Hookup software is installed to the selected location. When the
installation is complete, the Installation Complete window opens.

7.

Select Yes, I want to restart my computer now field and click Finish.
The Holter workstation will restart.

8.

When the workstation restarts, log back in as Administrator.

9.

Plug one end of a USB cable into the workstation and connect the other end to
the SEER Light Connect.
What happens next depends on the workstations operating system.
Windows 7 SP1 (32-bit or 64-bit) or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (64-bit)
Nothing happens. Device drivers were installed with the SEER Light Hookup
software. Skip to step 12.
Windows Server 2008 SP2 (32-bit)
The message Found new hardware is displayed. Skip to step 10.
Windows Server 2003 (32-bit) or Windows XP SP3 (32-bit)
The Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard opens. Skip to step 11.

If the workstation is running Windows Server 2008 SP2 (32-bit), use the following
procedure to install the SEER Light Hookup drivers.
a.

When the Found new hardware message is displayed, select Locate and
install driver software (recommended).

b.

If prompted, click Continue.

The following message is displayed: Windows cant verify the publisher
of this driver software.

c.

Select Install this driver software anyway.

The drivers are installed.

When the installation is complete, skip to step 12.

If the workstation is running Windows Server 2003 (32-bit) or Windows XP SP3

(32-bit), use the following procedure to install the SEER Light Hookup drivers.
a.

On the Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard, select No, not this
time, and click Next.

b.

On the next screen, select Install from a list or specific location

(Advanced) and click Next.

c.

On the Please choose your search and installation options window, do

the following:
Select Search for best driver in these locations.
Check Include this location in the search.
In the drop-down field, enter x:\gehcit\SeerLightHookup\
Drivers where x: is the letter of the drive where the application
was installed.

d.

Click Next.
The Files Needed dialog box opens to prompt you for the location of the
file WinRTUSB.dll.

In the drop-down field, enter x:\gehcit\SeerLightHookup\

Drivers, where x: is the letter of the drive where the application was
installed, and click OK.
If the installation CD is not in the drive, you will be prompted to insert
the CD and click OK.
The Files Needed dialog box opens to prompt you for the location to the
file WinRTUSB.sys.

f.

In the drop-down field, enter x:\gehcit\SeerLightHookup\

Drivers, where x: is the letter of the drive where the application was
installed, and click OK.
The wizard installs the device drivers. When it is done, the Completing the
Found New Hardware Wizard opens.

Click Finish to close the wizard.

h.

Proceed to step 12.

Confirm the drivers were installed.

a.

Open Device Manager.

b.

Look for the appropriate entry for your operating system:

For 32-bit operating systems (Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008
SP2, Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP SP3), look for the device
WinRT for USB and confirm that SEER Light Connect is listed beneath it.
For 64-bit operating systems (Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server
2008 R2 SP1), look for the device Jungo Connectivity and confirm that
Kenz USB 02 and WinDriver are listed beneath it.

The SEER Light Hookup installation is now complete.
