Other companies do not provide the total service package that we do because they
operate long distance and we have students in our dorm that we have daily conta

In the past 2 years, residency programs have been noticing a very unusual rise i
n CS exam failures. A CS exam failure coupled with a lack of hands-on clinical e
xperience will often keep an applicant from obtaining interviews and matching in
to a U.S. Residency program.
Do not let an attempt on the CS exam to be the end of your dreams! The CS exam i
s a practical exam and preparing for the CS exam requires a different approach.
Although you may be technically knowledgeable, nothing can possibly replace hand
s-on clinical experience in helping to acclimatize an IMG to the U.S. clinical s
ystem.

All in all i had great experiences in two three-weeks externship assignments wit
h Dr. Patel and Dr. Mehta. What i did were taking vitals, H&P, discussing possib
le DDx and Tx with my preceptors. It was like my step2CS exam. The experiences i
n FMGaffordable are very helpful for CS. If i had come before CS, it would have
been much easier to prepare for the exam. Getting familiarized with US medical s
ystem, insurance system, and EHR system was big accomplishment too. In the begin

Working with Dr Patel was an amazing experience. He's a family medicine who has
many recognized many times for excellent teaching. He is very astute. ( sharp).H
e's empathetic with the patient but still manages to stay on time. He covers eve
rything they need during the short 15 minute visit and is thorough in his physic
al examination. He is a great example to watch if you are doing step 2 CS. Patie
nt ranges from 20 all the way to 85. There are also some children. Dr Patel also
does cosmetic procedure such as Botox injections and laser treatments. These ar
e great compliments to typical physician income.
Dr. and Mr Mehta are great hosts. During my stay there they invited me to go to
blood donations and walks with them. At one time they even provided pizza for us
. Mr. And Dr. Mehta make you feel like family.
I also worked with Dr Garg, an internal medicine doctor. His style was different
from Dr Patel but was equally enlightening.Dr. Garg takes the time to really li
sten to his patients and let them talk. He has patient continuity of 20 25 years
or longer. He has been seeing entire familiws for years. All of his patients lo
ve him. He's very personal with his patients. He is a kind and approachable teac

2013 and had medical observership. I hope you remember me. But to remind you I
attached photo our photo. How are you doing? How is your son? I want to tell you
thank you for that you did for me. Actually my life definitely changed after my
visit US. After my observership I back to Russia and finished my residency. But
I started preparation for USMLE exams. I already finished Steps and now doing r
otations in Chicago area. I will apply in this year and will try to find job her
e. I am still in contact with Surya and Ramesh. And now I am a fan of indian cul
ture and specially indian food. I know how to cook biryani, dosa, different curr
y. I want to ask you about my observership with Doctor Patel. He is a great doct
or! And I learned alot from him. But after my rotation I did not get letter of r
ecommendation from him. It is absolutely my fault. But if there is any possibili
ty that I can get it now it would be very helpful for me, but if it is not possi

unities about the American healthcare system. I came to know about this company
through the internet while searching for externships and from then Mr. Mehta hel
ped me with all my queries before finally starting my 3 week externship in famil
y medicine under Dr. Alkesh D Patel.
My formal training with Dr. Alkesh D Patel was a really great experience for me.
The doctor has a natural bend towards teaching medical students and clearing th
eir doubts. His inter personal skills with the patients is par excellence from w
hich I learnt a lot. I was allowed not only to take history and do physicals but
could also enter patient notes into the computer. Dr. Alkesh was very thorough.
His teaching extended from letting us know about the medical software used for
patient notes to correcting the patient notes and teaching us ways to improve up
on the patient notes. Dr Patel is so cool in his working that even patients acknow
ledge this fact about him. This great family physician is always ready to teach
even during his busy schedule. The staff at the front desk is equally supportive
and guides you throughout the training.
Finally my experience about living at Mr. Mehta s place requires special mention t
oo. People living there, most of them medical graduates, were very friendly and
always ready to help each other. They always made me feel at home with so much t
o share and talk about. It was also at a great location with Walgreen s and the bu
s stop walking distance from the place. I strongly recommend fmgaffordable to ge

I wanted to share my recent experience with FMG affordable, for my clinical exte
rnship. I rotated with Dr. Alkesh Patel, Family Physician at Columbia, MD. He is
a great Doctor and I learned a lot from my four week of externship. It was a tr
ue hands on experience, where I was allowed to touch the patients. My typical day
was escorting the patient to the room, taking their vitals, history, physical a
nd documenting on electronic chart. Dr. Patel is very encouraging and helpful to

the International medical graduates. This experience boosted my confidence, com

munication as well as clinical skills. At the end he wrote me a good LOR.
I recommend FMG affordable to the IMGs who are looking to have a USCE. Dr. Mehta
, who is owner of the FMG affordable, also provides with the very affordable lod
ging service in her guest house for the ones who are travelling from outside of
Maryland. Mr. and Dr. (Mrs.) Mehta are helpful and pleasant couple. There house
is conveniently located in the Columbia, there is a frequent bus service right i
n front of the house which is very convenient. All in all it s a very good exposur
e for IMGs!

My experience was amazing! I was able to work with Dr. Solaimon and Dr. Khandelw
al at their fast-paced Gastroenterology Clinic. My day consisted of seeing offic
e-based patients in the morning where I was able to take histories and perform p
hysical exams. I was able to see procedures such as EGDs and colonoscopies in th
e afternoon, as well as, get hospital exposure in the evenings. At the hospital,
I saw several ERCPs and was even able to assist with a fecal transplant. This e
xperience definitely prepared me for the rigorous schedule of any residency prog
ram. I would recommend this to anyone. Thanks Mr. and Dr. Mehta!

I came to this rotation though an agency resident medical group in California be
cause I was looking for some exposure with internal medicine patients & recommen
dation letter before applying for residency. Mr Metha was very helpful in provid
ing accommodation and ride to get the rental car. I really appreciate him and hi
s wife for warm welcoming conversation. The room was also convenient. I spend 3
weeks and 2 days with Dr Garg who graciously discuss all his patients with me. i
t was a very informative and excellent externship. I learned a lot and I am than
kful to Dr. Garg.

I m an international medical graduate who didn t have any clinical experience in my
home country. My year of graduation is over 10 years. As I started the journey f
or USMLE and residency match, I found the US clinical experience means more than
just a great score. So after cracking up step1 and step2 CS test, I finally nar
rowed it down to fmgaffordable, a very nice group who helped me tremendously dow
n this road.
As I first met Dr. Mehta, she kindly cleared up my doubts and helped me find the
doctor that fits my need. Mr. Mehta then arranged efficiently my schedule with
Dr. Garg, an excellent internal medicine physician who owned two family clinics
in Baltimore. Mr. Mehta also try to make sure everything is running well either
stopping by in person or contacting me via email from time to time. He also gave
me lots of valuable advices to keep me on track.
It turned out my experience in Dr. Garg s clinics was extremely helpful in bridgin
g my clinical gap. Dr. Garg is one of the best internal physicians with profound
knowledge and clinical experience. He s also very patient, tolerant and full of h
umor in person. During the training period, I focused just in his clinics and go
t the opportunity to see thousands of his patients. Not only have I seen the mos
t common cases that I can gather clinical information and do physical examinatio
n in person, but also learned a few cases that rarely seen and learned the trick
s for differential diagnosis. I m truly thankful to what Dr. Garg has taught me an

d believe this experience will definitely boost my package in residency match.

Overall, I feel really lucky to get help from fmgaffordable as the responsible m

I am old FMG graduated and mother of 3 kids, I cleared step 1 and step 2 when I
scheduled for step 2 C.S and it s become typing and I don t have any experience with
typing. So I started with first aid book and typing learning program, after one
month I felt I don t have confident to do it alone. I need US clinical experience
because I need to pass C.S in first attempt and I need LOR from US Physicians.
So I started to search by internet for any program can help me with my obstacles
in language accent, communication skill and patient rapport because I have prob
lems with these things.
I found FMG affordable and others programs first thing I don t have time to wait I
need to start as soon as possible, the price as total package is worth. So I ap
plied within 3 days on April 2012 session for 6 weeks I left my city to go to Ma
ryland, Columbia, I started with them.
First 3 week with DR.Patel Family Medicine Physician is really an excellent phys
ician both from the clinical and academic point of view always helping me learn
more. I learned a lot from him in the 3 weeks. It is a hand- on clinical experie
nce. I m glad that I am working with him as my first opportunity; He really booste
d my confidence and inculcated in me the right approach towards patient, communi
cation skill and management strategies. Thank you a lot.
Second 3 week with DR.Mehta Internal Medicine Physician, Mr. Mehta wife which I
already familiar with her because I lived in dorm in her house. She is a very ni
ce and kind person, a professional Physician and she always willing to answer qu
estions, teach the techniques and the latest advancements in Medicine. I have ob
tained a lot of hands on experience. Thank you for your great job
