In order to minimize the absorbed dose, make the focal spot to distance
as long as possible. (Minimum 45 cm)

Be sure to carry out aging before taking an X-ray radiograph.
Before taking an X-ray radiograph, running-in operation of the X-ray tube unit
called "aging" is required.
1
1
1
1
After the X-ray tube unit is used for a long time at a relatively low tube
voltage (below 80 kV), if it is used in the range near the nominal highest
tube voltage (100 kV or more), discharge may result. This is an
accidental arc caused by the weakened aging effect at high tube voltage
after the X-ray tube unit is used for a long time at a lower tube voltage.
In this case, carry out the aging procedure described in Chapter 5
before operating the apparatus.

When the auto-power-off function is started with the connection of the power plug,
disconnect the power plug to restart the system.
When the system is used by connecting the power plug, deactivate the autopower-off function or set the auto-power-off time to 30 minutes.
Even if the auto-power-off function shuts the system off, the battery will continue
to consume a small amount of power. When the system is not in use, turn the key
switch to OFF
.
The auto-power-off function does not turn the DR system OFF (only with FPD
upgrade).
If the system is left with the DR system still running, the battery will continue to
consume a small amount of power. Therefore, always turn the DR system OFF
when the system is not in use (only with FPD upgrade).

Radiography parameters on this system are set using two controls X-ray tube voltage and currenttime product. Based on the radiography tube current-time product (mAs) setting, the system
automatically determines the maximum X-ray tube current (mA) and the shortest exposure time(s)
available within the rated limits of the system and X-ray tube unit. Radiography parameters can be
changed using the methods described below.
The radiography parameter settings permitted on the MobileArt Evolution High Power Type (32
kW) are constrained by X-ray tube voltage (kV), current-time product, and radiography mode.

The dose calculation unit calculates and displays the X-ray radiation dosage applied to the surface of
the patients skin during radiography. The calculation is based on the radiography parameter settings
and the distance between the surface of the patient and X-ray tube unit focal spot which is measured
by an ultrasonic ranging unit attached to the collimator.

Position the X-ray tube unit and specify the radiography parameters in the
same manner as normal X-ray radiography.
Based on the radiography parameter settings and the distance between the surface of the

NOTE
These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is affected by absorption
and reflection from structures, objects and people.
*1: Field strengths from fixed transmitters, such as base stations for radio (cellular/cordless) telephones and land mobile
radios, amateur radio, AM and FM radio broadcast and TV broadcast cannot be predicted theoretically with accuracy.
To assess the electromagnetic environment due to fixed RF transmitters, an electromagnetic site survey should be
considered. If the measured field strength in the location in which the MobileArt Evolution High Power Type (32 kW)
is used exceeds the applicable RF compliance level above, the MobileArt Evolution High Power Type (32 kW) should
be observed to verify normal operation. If abnormal performance is observed, additional measures may be necessary,
such as reorienting or relocating the MobileArt Evolution High Power Type (32 kW).
*2: Over the frequency range 150 kHz to 80 MHz, field strengths should be less than 3 V/m.

Table D.2
Recommended Separation Distances between Portable
and Mobile RF Communications Equipment and the MobileArt Evolution High Power Type (32 kW)
The MobileArt Evolution High Power Type (32 kW) is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment in
which radiated RF disturbances are controlled.
The customer or the user of the MobileArt Evolution High Power Type (32 kW) can help prevent
electromagnetic interference by maintaining a minimum distance between portable and mobile RF
communications equipment (transmitters) and the MobileArt Evolution High Power Type (32 kW) as
recommended below, according to the maximum output power of the communications equipment.

NOTE
For transmitters rated at a maximum output power not listed above, the recommended separation distance d in
meters (m) can be estimated using the equation applicable to the frequency of the transmitter, where P is the
maximum output power rating of the transmitter in watts (W) according to the transmitter manufacturer.
At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the separation distance for the higher frequency range applies.
These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is affected by absorption
and reflection from structures, objects and people.

Anatomical Program
The factory-set anatomical program numbers (APR numbers) and their radiography parameters are
indicated below.
APR for Chest and leg are set 32 kw electric power, using the large focus, to minimize image blur
from body movement. Exposure time may be extended and tube current decreases in some
radiography settings when choosing the small focus.
Electric power* of High mAs settings like APR for Abdomen and Waist have no difference between
the large and small focus.

Treat this precision imaging unit carefully.
Do NOT drop or hit the imaging unit or expose it to large shocks, all of which
could damage the unit or cause it to malfunction.
The imaging unit is equipped with four shock detectors. These detectors are
normally white, but change color if exposed to excessive shock. If even one
shock detector changes color, there is a chance the imaging unit is damaged
or broken. If a shock detector changes color, any damage incurred is not
covered by warranty.

Anatomical programs cannot be selected from the X-ray control panel during DR
radiography mode.
Pressing the
(FPD/cassette radiography mode button) will not switch the
mode from cassette radiography to DR radiography.
Select a radiography mode from the DR system to switch the mode from the
cassette radiography to the DR radiography. Once done, the corresponding
anatomical program is selected and the radiography parameters are changed to
those registered to that program.
When the
(user settings button) is pressed to switch to the change settings
mode, and then the
(user settings button) is pressed again to return to the
normal mode, the anatomical program changes. From that point, select the
radiography mode using the DR system once again.

X-ray Radiography
X-ray tube units must be aged before they can be used. Always age the X-ray
tube unit before radiography.
^ Reference "3.2 Aging the X-Ray Tube Unit" P.3-6
Inadequate aging may result in the X-ray tube unit discharging during
radiography.
^ Reference "3.4.1 Locking and Releasing the Arm" P.3-13
If the DR system exposure time exceeds 1000 msec, the DR system ready time is
extended to about 30 seconds.
9-14
When using the DR system for a long period of time, connect the power cable to a
power outlet and switch from battery power to outlet power in order to reduce
battery power consumption.
If the system screen is blank after pressing the DR button, and once it is
confirmed that the power cable is not connected to the power outlet, turn both the
key switch and the main circuit breaker to the OFF position, and restart the
system.
M503-E027
* Pressing the
(FPD/cassette radiography mode button) will not switch the mode from
cassette radiography to DR radiography.
Select a radiography mode from the DR system to switch the mode from cassette
radiography to DR radiography. Once done, the corresponding anatomical program is
selected and the radiography parameters are changed to those registered in that program
(except for a part of the radiography methods by CXDI-60G/60C).
9
9
Press the hand switch button to the first level (radiography preparation).
Radiography preparation begins. The status indicator lamp will blink green.
During radiography preparation, the collimator lamp will turn off automatically.
9
9
After radiography preparation has finished, the
(radiography ready indicator lamp)
will be illuminated and the status indicator lamp is illuminated green and the collimator
lamp is illuminated again.
* If an X-ray is not radiated within 30 seconds after the radiography preparation is finished,
the preparation will be automatically cancelled. To prepare for radiography again, release
the hand switch from the state pressed to the first level.
9
9
To illuminate the collimator lamp again after the radiography preparation is finished, see
"4.1 User Settings" P.4-2.
Confirm that the DR system is READY before attempting radiography. Attempting
radiography before the DR system is ready will result in error F68 and prevent radiography.
If error F68 appears, cancel the error by confirming the READY indicator on the DR system
touch panel monitor and then pressing the FPD radiography selection button.
9
M503-E027
9-15
9 FPD Upgrade
After confirming the DR system READY indicator, press the hand switch
button to the second level (X-ray exposure).
Pressing the button starts X-ray exposure.
During X-ray exposure the
(X-ray irradiation indicator lamp) is illuminated, a sound
is emitted, and the status indicator lamp will be illuminated orange.
After X-ray exposure, the [kV] and [mAs] displays will blink for 5 seconds.
The status indicator lamp will blink until the battery has recharged.
* During radiography the hand switch (first and second levels) must be continuously and fully
depressed until the exposure finishes. If the switch is released before completion of the
exposure, the exposure will be terminated prematurely. In this case, the film may not be
clear due to insufficient X-ray exposure.
After performing radiography, another image cannot be taken until the battery is recharged.
Wait until the
(standby indicator lamp) is illuminated before performing any operation.
Depending on the radiography parameters, this may require 1 minute or more.
When repeating radiography preparation, release the hand switch (first and second levels)
once.

The touch panel monitor is not designed for diagnostic use. Displayed images are
for reference use only.
The kV and mAs displays may differ from the radiography parameters displayed
on the touch panel monitor.
The system can save a maximum of 3500 images. If this number is exceeded, the
system automatically deletes excess images, starting from the oldest image (all
images taken in an examination are deleted together).
9
9
9
