Organizing a one- or two-day Eye Camp at Shangrila facility with the permission
of the company represented by Mr. Sajid Khan Mashwani, Manager
Administration at Shangrila (Pvt) Limited. The purpose is to carry out free eye
checkups of the factory workers and providing free of cost treatment to them.
White-collar employees are also welcome to be part of this camp. Secondly, by
doing this, Eye Sight Trust enhances its reach towards more needy people so
that everyone becomes aware of the noble job the Trust has been performing for
last 11 years, and as a result of this awareness one gets more attracted and less
hesitant to approach Eye Sight Trust for getting free eyes treatment at Eye Sight
Trust in collaboration with Khalid Eye Clinic.

Shangrilas concerns

Recently Indus Hospital held blood donation camps at Shangrila factory, which
affected their production level adversely. As their core area is production, so they
are afraid if it gets affected by any means, they will face consequences in long
run.

The treatment should be free for all categories of workers, not free only for Zakat
deserving workers, and on 50% discount for those who dont deserve Zakat.

Are there any business or profit objectives of the Trust with regard to this camp?

I have been part of other miscellaneous activities throughout my 20-year

corporate career. Organizing Eye Camps at factories is a new phenomenon for
me, said the Manager.

Assurance against concerns

The camps may be held in phases without affecting the daily production process.

Indus Hospital organized camps for taking blood donations from workers,
whereas, Eye Sight Trust is not coming to take anything from the company, but
to give to the company in terms of free checkups and treatment.

If Shangrila has not recovered from adverse effects caused by Indus blood
camps, the camps of Eye Sight Trust may be delayed up to a month from now.
(As suggested by Dr. Khalid himself).

Free treatment for all categories of workers a concern raised by Shangrila?

Eye Sight Trust has not at all profit motive in organizing such camps.
