SCOPE
This document covers design of FRP manholes with concrete covers for use in
Intracity OFC Networks.

DESIGN
i

The Manholes shall be steel structural frame with a layer of FRP covering
entire structure and void spaces between structural steel frames suitable for
grade HD-20 as per IS-12592.

ii

Covers shall be M30 concrete with adequate reinforcement as per

manufactures design.

iii

Design shall be approved and validate through testing by independent

Agency / Test house like IIT.

iv

The provision shall be made in design for Entry and Exit of duct and existing
Utilities.

Cover shall be design and Tested as per I.S.12592 for Grade HD-20.

vi

The Manufacturer to qualify manufacturing process for Steel, FRP and

concrete and provided Inspection and Test plan and other manufacturing
parameters.

INSPECTION AND TESTING

Manufacture shall be establish an Inspection and Testing plan and get it approval
from Engineer-In-Charge prior to start of production.

Drawings and Document only approved by IIT Mumbai for one of the Manufacturer
are attached for reference as following:
