TEACHING UNIT
Grammar content
a- Simple Present sentences
-Sentences

b- Present Continuous and going to

-Sentences

OBJECTIVES
-

To show students ways to use the simple present tense and

the present continuous.
To practice the uses of these tenses.

STUDENTS LANGUAGE LEVEL

This unit is going to be for middle school students. Their
English level will be upper intermediate or advance.

PRESENTATION OF THE CLASS

The class is going to be presented in a very simple way. The
teacher is going to design mini-lessons with very easy
examples. Afterward, he will give a chance for questions. Next,
the teacher is going to read a dialogue that features the tenses
studied in class. The teacher will ask the students to work in
pairs. They will work on worksheets. Then, the class is going to
discuss the exercises. Finally, they will read some excerpts from
their favorite magazines or books trying to find examples of the
tenses studied in class.

STUDENTS WORK TO MASTER THE LESSONS

The mastery of the features of a language is not an easy
work. As a teacher, I expect that my students will not master all
the skills to be learned right away. For that reason, I will make
them think about the class, talk among themselves to describe
the content of the class. Besides that, they will have a chance
to bring examples of the information to class. They will be able
to choose any magazine or book they are reading by that time.
Bringing magazines and books to the class will make them see
that what they are studying is real, and not just an invention of
the teacher to make them fail.
