Chapter 15 - OFFENSES AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS[1]

ARTICLE I. - IN GENERAL

Sec. 15-1. - Fireworks; sale or discharge within certain area restricted; curfew.
(a)
No person or organization shall directly or indirectly sell, give and deliver, and no person shall
discharge any fireworks within the limits of the west half of Ward 3 of the parish, with one (1)
exception;
Fireworks may be discharged at the Cameron Boat Launch located on Davis Road.
(b)
Discharge within two (2) miles of certain intersection.
(1)
No person or organization shall directly or indirectly sell, give and deliver, and no person
shall discharge any fireworks within the limits of a radius of two (2) miles from the
intersection of La. Highway 27 to La. Highway 82 and La. Highway 1143 east in the
Town of Creole, of Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
(2)
Whoever shall violate the provisions of this subsection shall, upon conviction, be fined
not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than three hundred dollars ($300.00) or
imprisoned for not more than thirty (30) days, or both, at the discretion of the court.
(c)
Discharge within five (5) miles of certain intersection.
(1)
No person or organization shall directly or indirectly sell, give and deliver and no person
shall discharge any fireworks within the limits of a radius of five (5) miles from the
intersection of La. Highway 27 to La. Highway 82 at Holly Beach, Cameron Parish,
Louisiana.
(2)
Special permission shall be granted by the police jury to nonprofit organizations for
fireworks displays.
(3)
Whoever shall violate the provisions of this subsection shall, upon conviction, be fined
not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than three hundred dollars ($300.00) or
imprisoned for not more than thirty (30) days, or both, at the discretion of the court.
(d)
Discharge within a radius of certain businesses[; curfew].
(1)
No person shall explode or discharge any fireworks within the limits of a radius of three
hundred (300) feet from the location of any place of business in Ward 4 of Cameron
Parish, which sells, distributes, offers for sale, delivers or stores fireworks.

(2)
Curfew for the exploding or discharging of fireworks shall be 10:30 p.m. with the
exception of special holidays, when the curfew shall be 1:00 a.m. in Ward 4 of Cameron
Parish.
(3)
Whoever shall violate the provisions of this subsection shall, upon conviction, be fined
not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than three hundred dollars ($300.00) or
imprisoned for not more than thirty (30) days, or both, at the discretion of the court.
